Massive Target DVD Clearance! (Alpharetta, GA) YMMV elsewhere

Most of these were under $10 at the Alpharetta, GA Target (at Northpoint Mall):

Munsters S1
Pee Wee's Playhouse V1 and 2
Flintstones S1 and S2
Top Cat
Wacky Races
Scooby Doo where are you
Boy Meets World S2
Superman: The Animated Series V1
Lost in Space S2 Vol 1
Andy Griffith Show S1
Samurai Jack S1
Tom and Jerry V1

I picked up their last Home Improvement S1 and Challenge of the Superfriends S1.

Perhaps other Targets are clearing out some excess stuff as well. Highly advise you guys go check it out.

I seriously doubt these are nationwide sales. Those are crazy prices.

I was just at Target and they're still regular price here. The only DVD I've ever seen on clearance in Target is Mr. Wong for $1.98.

Well, the Alpharetta store is in the process of remodeling...I think it's becoming a Greatlands Target. That might explain it.

TabascoKid, what were the quantities of the clearance titles like? I am considering making the drive down to possibly pick up some of these.

I was at Target today (not for DVDs but I always walk by and look at some) and no sale at that one. You're lucky because there are a couple there that I'd pick up in a heartbeat.

I work at Target and have never seen a dvd clearance like that. All of our excess movies and cds can be sent back to the merchandisers every six weeks or so. As a matter of fact, we just sent a bunch back earlier today. Very nice find, though.

Target is great for clearance sales, but I've never seen dvd's and music cd's priced slashed.

I always thought it had something to do with a 3rd party stocking those departments of their stores.

I'd kill for superfriends, samurai jack, and Superman for under ten each.

As for Lost in Space, I'd only go as far as manslaughter.

If you do go to pick up some more sets I'd be willing to pay cost plus tip for the animated sets above.

Dang! Wishful thinking here...I'd go for Top Cat, Flinstones 1 & 2, Andy Griffith, Munsters, Superman, & Lost in Space in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, we live in NE Tennessee...maybe the Target generosity will spread across your state border & make its way up to us!

BTW...I wouldn't kill for any of these...but would consider a light maiming ("Bring out the Comfy Chair!")

This is a thread similar to the Blockbuster threads....where 1 store in the entire US has mispriced a dvd, but the thread is called "Huge sale at Blockbuster!"

HI S1: $8.74. I picked up the last copy, though.

Superman TAS may be a bit more expensive. Challenge of the Superfriends was $17.48, which is still a steal (with Mark Waid and Geoff Johns commentary - comic geek in reference there).

As for quanitites, you're looking at about 2-3 copies each. They also had a Saved by the Bell S3 and S4 as well.

Picking stuff up - I may do this, but I may be going out of town this weekend as well. Don't know yet.

If you decide to help some of us out, I'd very much be interested in Boy Meets World, Saved by the Bell, and both Pee-Wee's.

Woo-Hoo. Thanks OP. I went to target to pick up South Park Season Three. They ddin't really have a clearance bin. Just two titles sitting on their overall clearance shelf. But I was able to grab the last copy of Batman the Animated Series Season 1 for $20.98!!! I also got their only copy of Mork and Mindy for only $7.48

So thanks for the heads up OP. Also, I'm looking for Samurai Jack and Superman Animated and the Superfriends. If you could pick one up I'd appreciate it. And I'd be willing to trade Mork and Mindy along with any price difference and tip for one of them.

Thanks!
