Best dts-es mixes.

I realized I hadn't watched my Gladiator in DTS-es 6.1 an I gotta say I was really impressed. I know there aren't a lot and this dvd was out for a while, but this was the best I had heard since Se7en. What are some of the best out there?

It's amazing how many of those are low-budget films from small labels (Anchor Bay/Blue Underground/Lion's Gate). Where's the mainstream support? :sniff:

Not a movie, but a very excellent DTS-ES release is Medeski Martin & Wood's Uninvisible. The mix is all over the place, and I would love to see more of their albums released in the DTS multichannel format. Combustication, especially. I just hooked up my rear center, and that was the first thing I reached for.

*Good thread, by the way.

I don't get it, why do movies like "Dirty Dancing" have DTS:ES encoding? At what part of the movie is it imperative that we have some serious audio going on? Perhaps that "cuh-wazy" crowd reaction when the "nail" the lift at the end? booooo...
