Andy Serkis as Gollum/Smeagol guesting with Tenacious D
edit: **see 12th post for video**
This is from a recent show they did in New Zealand with Andy Serkis guesting:
Gollum + Tenacious D - Your the one I want
Definately NSFW.
The D allows taping so this recording is legal. Taping polocy per their website:
"Have fun, go ahead tape our shows, but be cool and don't sell our stuff."

I haven't found any hard evidence of it being Andy but given the recording, people saying it was him, and this article, it would have to be.

(about the movie King Kong)
Maybe you’ll get to see the monkey?
Jack: Kyle, you won’t get to see the monkey but you will see the actor who’s gonna play the monkey - it’s this guy Andy Serkis. He played Gollum. Actually dude, we should get him to come out and sing a song with us as Gollum.
Kyle: Wow, is he a good singer?
Jack: He made a CD and a couple of the songs are so funny.
Kyle: That’s the greatest thing ever.
Jack: I don’t know if I should say what song he might do over the phone ‘cause I don’t want to give that away over the phone.
Kyle: Make it a surprise.
Jack: And he’s not gonna look like Gollum, he’s just gonna sound like him. He doesn’t look like Gollum at all. But he does look a little like Smeagol.
Kyle: That’s awesome, dude.
Jack: I don’t know how he does it.
Kyle: That’s really eerie.
Jack: I know.

What's even better is that video of this concert exists somewhere. Here is the source file for the audio of the show. If you want it send me an IM. See the end about the DVD.

There is also a DVD that I recorded of this show floating around with this
recording as the audio track compressed to AC3 this is not a rip of the DVD
this is from the DAT master.

Just got a dvd of this through a trade (again the D allows video taping).
Here is a screenshot of serkis with the D. If you want a copy of this just reply. I might make an mpeg clip of it.
