I'm bored, can you tell?
Anyway, I can think of a few off the top of my head:
The Twist --> Let's Twist Again
It's My Party --> Judy's Turn To Cry
Major Tom --> Earth Below Us
Are there any more out there?

Metallica's "Unforgiven" and "Unforgiven II"
Maybe NOFX's "Liza and Louise", then the separate followups "Liza" and "Louise"
C.W. McCall's "Convoy" was followed up with "'Round The World With The Rubber Duck"

Pink Floyd - "Another Brick in the Wall"
Snoop Dogg and Xhibit - "Bitch Please" (the sequel is on Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP)
Fleetwood Mac - "You and I, Part I"

Too many rap songs to name. But one example is the Roxanne, Roxanne songs back in the 80s. Not only were there sequels but there was a back-and-forth diss-fest between a couple people.

Fractured Mirror -> Fractured Too
Didn't RUSH do a few songs that had sequels that were on 2 or 3 albums?

Oh yeah, how about "Monster Mash" and "Monster's Holiday" ? That sort of counts...
BTW -- I just realized that in my original post I called it "Major Tom" and not "Space Oddity"

The other song you listed is Major Tom Coming Home.

"Peggy Sue" and "Peggy Sue Got Married" - Buddy Holly
"Ramrod" and "Wreck on the Highway" - Bruce Springsteen (both from the same album)
Also, I've heard that "The River" is Springsteen's sequel to "Thunder Road", which is depressing as all hell. I don't know if it's true, but it certainly makes sense.

Now see what you've made me do? My indie-rock cred is completely shot.
