Anyone else's EGM subscription halted?

I always sign up for the free EGM subscriptions that are posted here and in Hot Deals. My subscription was good until 2009. I noticed i hadn't received an issue since early December. I called ZiffDavis and they said a "Stop order" had been put on my account. And they told me to call "Publications Unlimited" and gave me a number. The lady at Ziff Davis said she would lift the hold and i should start getting it again.

Just wondering if anyone else from this board had the same problem?

Now that you mention it, I haven't gotten a new issue in a couple of months. I think I'll have to give them a call.

There was a stop on mine as well, but they fixed it. She said she didn't know why it was stopped but my subscription is good til March 2012 and they're gonna get it restarted.

I haven't gotten an issue since that Holiday 04 one...or whatever...Never got Jan, Feb or that new March issue thats at the stands now.

I called that customer service number but the dude said that there was no reason I shouldn't have gotten them and I should check the post office. Nothing was said about a hold or anything. I have this free until 07 or 08 and I love reading it at work on my break and in the bathroom too....

Damnit, now what?

Yeah, my subscription stopped last year too. I didn't do anything since it was a free one, but I'll have to give them a call. Thanks!

I was wondering about that too. I called and she removed the stop hold. Said it could be something as simple as they couldn't fit it in the mailbox. I got them to give me the back issue for Feb but that is all that was available. She said it would tack on a couple months at the end.

I really wonder what caused this? That is just a really strange thing that seemingly all of us here experienced. I wonder if any "normal" subscriptions were affected?

Thanks OP.

The lady that i spoke with suggested that we must have signed up for an offer (through publications unlimited) that was for only a handful of issues, or an offer they decided to cease, and their solution was to signify non-payment to Ziff-Davis, resulting in a hold being placed on our accounts.

I doubt it's something the Post Office did since we all come to this board, and we all got our subscriptions held at the same time. I hope lifting the hold will put the issue to rest. Thanks for all the feedback guys. Glad to know i wasn't the only one missing issues.

Yeah, I'm trying to think if I got last month's issue or not....I think I may just wait a month and see.

Who was on the cover....or what I should say? (the current issue in stores)

They screwed up big time. The excuse I got was that I must have moved and didn't inform them of my new address. No apology, just a "your subscription will resume" email. To make matters worse, my next issue will be April's. I think my last was the holiday issue.

I wonder if their advertisers know about this?

They said mine halted because it got switched to the digital issue. She switched it back (exp. in 2012). She said the next issue would be May because April already got sent. Since she was unable to tell me how to access the digital issues, she's gonna send me the Feb, Mar, and April issues (4-6 weeks, at least I get to read the PSP coverage).

Funny how random the replies are that we're getting. I was told my next issue would be March, and that there were no backissues available for me.

I thought I was the only one. I just called to straighten things out. Damn freebies screwed things up (and I don't even expect to get those extrs issues now).

Now does anybody know the phone number for Computer Gaming World offhand, since I think the same thing happened with them, too?

That's funny I actually had this problem cleared up finally yesterday. I had called 2 weeks ago and lady said i see it as being sent out fine i wait and see the Godfather issue everywhere in stores and its been about 3 -4 months since i've seen anything in the mail box while all my other mags are coming fine and dandy.I call in and same thing happened the digital issue was something it was switched to by EBgames they said. So my next issue will be the may issue. It hasnt been the same taking a Pooper without a EGM in hand. Anyone else ONLY read doing the pooper or is it just me?
