KOTOR II or Mercenaries??? Which should I choose??
I only have enough dough to get one of these games right now. which should I choose? I just finished KOTOR 1 this weekend....it was one of the greatest video game experiences that I have ever had. However I have read reviews of Part 2 and it is not supposed to be as good as the first one. What are your opinions of the sequel?? Does the sequel have the same "Save Anywhere" feature?? I loved being able to save whenever I wanted to.
I have read alot of reviews for Mercenaries and it is supposed to be kick ass fun. Help me decide which game to get. Thanks.

not a big fan of PC gaming...I prefer consoles even if graphics are not as good. Thanks for the reply Groucho.
Any opinions from anyone else??

Hey wlj, What are you doing buying another game with all of those unfinished games you have. Judging by your "Do you finish your games" thread, you have plenty to keep you busy. Do yourself a favor and save the 50$.

KOTOR2 is great. Just as good as the first from the amount that I've played so far. Mercinaries is a lot like GTA where there's no real set path you have to take. You just go around getting missions from people, and blowing stuff up. It's fun for a while, but I'd go with KOTOR considering how much you liked the first.

Depends on if you want blow-'em-up or RPG action. I personally would wait for the PC version of KOTOR II as well. If you've got a bunch of games you haven't finished yet, finish those. (I'm in the same boat, as I have a crapload of games I have right now, but I am itching to get my hands on Mercenaries. I bought Ninja Gaiden, but I feel like it's okay because I got it used for a good price. )

This is what I am doing. While I am finishing older games, the price drops. Works out kind of nice.

You're on a KOTOR high right now, so get KOTOR 2. You'll appreciate it more now.
I personally would get Mercenaries, but I didn't like KOTOR 1 as much as most, so I'm admittedly biased.

I would have gone the KOTOR2 route as well. I couldn't wait for the price drop so I have it preordered (damn slow pal releases). Mercenaries sounds great but since I wasn't already pre-hyped for it (only heard of it when I read the review) then I can wait for a while.

I finished and loved KOTOR 1, but not even 10 hours into KOTOR 2 I just gave up (after getting my lightsabre). It seems like the same kind of game on the surface - but it just doesn't feel that fun. It was hard to care about the game, and most of the time, it just felt like one big chore. That's the best way to describe the game-play: a chore. It just wasn't fun this time around. Mercenaries is a lot more fun.
But the game I would reccomend and the sleeper hit that everyone who's played loves is Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. This is a AAA game all the way and blends platform/FPS/stealth in the best way imaginable. It's a meaty game at 20 hours, and fun enough to play through again. I really can't reccomend this game highly enogh - it's single palyer only, but it's easily trounces Halo/Halo2's single player game.

so far I am digging KOTOR 2.....I am still on Peragus....Played it for prolly 3 hours last night. I have heard alot of gripes about the load times....I haven't really noticed a problem...but maybe it is later in the game when the load times become a nuisance. I really like having force powers to start with...and you seem to level up more often which gives me more force powers. I do wish you had a light saber to start with, but I didn't have one to start with in the original either....so I can live with it. I do wish I could redo my portrait...my guy looks a little too much like Jeff Goldblum... How long before you get the cool jedi robes...can't wait to get my hands on a black one.
