Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence Replacements

On IGN.com the top DVD headline is:

GITS (GHsot in the Shell) 2: INNOCENCE Replacemnt Program. In the article they say that new releases of the DVD have "V4" on the sidebar of the DVD. Copies with this V4 emblem have the correct subtitles, not the Closed Captioned ones. If you already bought a CC version, than just contact Go Fish/Dreamworks and they will send you a new copy in exchange for the new version. Gracias.

Woo-hoo!!!!

Visit http://www.gofishpictures.com/GITS2/main.html and click on "Questions About Your DVD" for the replacement form.

And a big thumbs up to Dreamworks/Go Fish! for dealing with it, instead of ignoring it.

If they haven't done anything about the font size, I don't see the point. I'll just use the French subs.

By sidebar, do they mean the security sticker on the side? Or the title on the other side?

tks

If the French subs are good, I'd expect the English subs to be similar in size.

CC is different from subs.

(Just to be more clear) The French subtitles were the same size, but they were not CC....they're in the same spot, too.......

Haven't seen anything about the size of the new subtitles yet....only that they're no longer CC (or CC exclusively). If they're the same size...well, all you would be able to do is laugh. Then cry.

Ain't gonna happen, not with Go Fish (see Millennium Actress). Look for the UK release if you desire an English dub.

It'll say V4 on the spine of the DVD. At, least that's what Dreamworks says...

I doubt the UK release will have a dub either... the UK Millennium Actress DVD didn't. It's pretty much unheard of for a UK company to have a dub produced themselves (recently anyway).

Anyway, this is great news ^^ Now it looks like there's actually a chance for me to order this DVD... though I'll have to wait until online stores actually have copies of the replacement version, which could be a while -_-

It doesn't seem to pay to be an early adopter with GitS titles (referring also to the problems with the TV series DVD/CDs). Good thing I've procrastinated on picking any of them up. Thanks for the info!

wonder if they will lower the height of the subs as well (i think they are a tad high but still don't mind them.

dumb question, but what is the "sidebar" of the dvd? would this be the security seal on the top edge of the case that usually contains printing (title)?

GITS (GHsot in the Shell) 2: INNOCENCE Replacemnt Program. In the article they say that new releases of the DVD have "V4" on the sidebar of the DVD.

By sidebar, I believe he meant spine...

The funny thing is, Dreamworks first said this was purposeful, that it wasn't a mistake (at least, that's what the first email replies to angry fans said). Something vague and silly about it being for owners of older TVs that don't handle CC.

Whoever wrote that response probably didn't realize that the audio track is only in Japanese, since if the audio was in English that would make perfect sense.

YES!

Now to find a corrected copy at the stores...online this could be a pain. Any word on when stores will get the replacements, or has anyone here seen them yet at a national retailer?

Thanks for the info. Just picked this one up today. My spine was "V4"-less so, I'm waiting for my mailer as well.

I don't think Dreamworks actually do recall on the DVD. So it will take some time before the V4 gets through the distribution to the retailers.

Arrived yet for anyone?

Anyone receive the mailer yet? I signed up on the first day, but haven't heard any feedback or received anything in the mail.

On a similar note, anyone receive a replacement to the GITS:SAC OST, GITS:SAC 1 DTS, or GITS:SAC 2 DTS/DD discs? I sent all 4 discs in at once but haven't received anything back yet.

People reportedly received all their replacement discs for their GITS:SAC in the past couple of weeks. They sent in theirs in November tough.

Still have yet to receive my replacement pack for GITS: Innocence, but I'm a patient man
