Seriously, haven't we been seeing things on this game for at least three years?
I'm not at all interested in the game but anytime I see something about it I always think "That's not out yet?"

I can't even remember how long it's been since I played that free Toyota demo someone posted here. Trigger could be right about using it as a launch title for the next gen PS. Who knows, he's been right at least once in recent memory.

It's a little different with Halo 2.5, where I presume directx will make it easier for them to scale up the xbox2 architecture.

Presumably, the extra delay is to remove the hard disk feature that would have enabled players to store pics of their cars. It is to keep in line with the new slim PS2 which does not support a hard disk.

I work at gamestop....release date is 'february' but I tell everyone it'll come out by christmas Oddly, the strategy guide has a more precise date of 3/8/05 I believe.

I have the import version, and my only real complaint is that some of the overpowered prize cars are too easy to get. I know you don't have to have to use the best car for the races, but the temptation to take something like the Cadillac Cion (700+ hp) out for the beginner races is too much for me to resist.
Having 1080i support is cool, but the difference between 480i and 1080i seems less than the difference between 480i and 480p for games like Halo 2.

My best guess on the delay is to put it out when it will be the main attraction. They didn't want to launch it in the holiday season against GTA, Halo2, MP2, MGS3, etc. and are probably wanting to wait a couple more months for people to finish those and be itching for something new to buy.

No, they definately wanted to put it out by Christmas. Missing Christmas is always a very very bad thing. And now it puts it closer the to end of the PS2 lifecycle when some people may just decide to wait for GT5 for thier PS3s.
