Criterion regions ?
Hi to All
I've a doubt, are criterion dvd's region 1, 0 or some are region 1 and others region 0?
Because at Amazon.com they all appear to be region 1, But at Cd Wow and at criteriondvd.com, some are listed region 1 and others region 0.
So please tell me... Who should I believe?

Believe CriterionDVD over Amazon any day.
BUT some dvd's I saw at criteriondvd.com marked region 0 are marked region 1 at Cwow. So is criteriondvd REALLY reliable??

I think that this in the case. If Criterion licenses a film from a company that tends to be more protective of its films (ie. Disney, Toho, etc), the licensor would probably demand the DVDs be Region 1. If the licensor doesn't require it, than a release could be Region 0
Now my doubt is about criteriondvd.com reliability(sp?). Because I don't wanna buy a Dvd that says it's region free but it turns out to be region 1.

CriterionDVD.com has been very meticulous in noting the Region encoding of each of the Criterion releases (which are generally NOT specified on the box). I can't guarantee that they're 100% accurate, but I bet they're pretty darn close. The ultimate authority is probably the Criterion Forum, which maintains a thread strictly to document region encoding:
Note that if you buy a used Criterion disc, sometimes the first edition of certain releases is coded R0, whereas the second edition is R1.
