Sky Captain early

I just got back from my local store when I saw it. I was getting ready to check out and they had it there and was selling it early so I picked up a copy of it. I've noticed before that they seem be selling other movies before street dates as well. I live just outside of Philly in case anyone else wants it for the hefty price of $24.99.

Its considered bad form to post places that break street date. It could get them in serious trouble and then we won't get our movies early. Best not to post it.

I edited it..better now? I was just wondering how often people on here find movies before the street date. I've only got two movies before the street date from the stores and one from a website.

I've gotten plenty of DVDs early from websites over the years, although it's usually only a few days. As for stores, I've only seen it happen twice, an neither time was in something I bought (Once in a Suncoast, once in a Walmart). Of course, I don't necessarily go to video departments of stores on non-Tuesdays either.

I picked up "Sky Captain" yesterday at a second hand store. It was brand new, still shrink-wrapped -- NOT a bootleg -- and I picked it up for $7.00.

Small releases that you think most people wouldn't care about, such as the Godzilla movies, I can find more often than not, available early at my local best buy. As far as the big popular titles, there's hardly been any that I've found early. A Buffy season here, a Family Guy there, etc.

Well the commercial I saw on TV yesterday said "Buy Sky Captain Tomorrow" so you didn't really get it early.
