Late Show with David Letterman, 1/19/04
Did anyone see Letterman last night? Does anyone know why Paul Schaffer was guest-hosting? I turned it on about 10 minutes late and saw him there, but I don't know why he was hosting.

I was going to ask the same thing today - I checked to see who was on before I went to bed and I noticed Paul was interviewing Regina King. Doesn't look like CBS's website has anything up about it.

Letterman was in Dearborn, Michigan to receive a trophy for being co-owner of the Indy 500-winning race team. It was mentioned briefly at the beginning of either the monologue or Paul's desk segment (mentioned on Tuesday's Late Show as well)
