Farscape Peacekeeper Wars sound pitched low!

Besides having poor PQ (no excuse as this was shot in HD), the sound is pitched too low. It's quite annoying, especially Pilot, who just sounds wrong.

Lion's Gate strikes again!

Can you elaborate a little bit more?

I'd say it was 3% slower, like they used a PAL master and didn't account for the difference in speed. Everybody's voice is too deep.

If you get the DVD and are a Farscape fan you'll notice the pitch is off- the whole thing, not just the dialogue but the soundtrack as well.

Maybe I'm oversensitive to these things because I'm a musician, but I think it's obvious enough.

I'm not a musician, but I'd like to say that I have a pretty good ear, so when I get it in the next day or two (it's in the mail) and watch it, I'll let you know.

When I watched the broadcast of it, I thought that Pilot sounded "weird" and checked to see if the original guy had been used for his voice.

OK, so it wasn't Lion's Gate at fault, just the new sound production facilities. To my ears the whole sound of the show is different.

Well, if you get the region-2 version, it'll be 4% faster - so that should make things sound better, not to mention PAL has a higher resolution, so it could also look better - also, throw in the fact that the R2 will have more extras and the solution just sorta kicks you in the face.
