PLEASE help me identify this movie
When I was a kid I saw a movie on TV about these people who died at the exact instant there was a nuclear holocaust. Because their deaths coincided with the explosion, they survived. One lady electrocuted herself in the bathtub with a hair dryer.
Only a half dozen people lived, and they ended up wandering around searching out other survivors. A couple of people met up and went "shopping" at an abandoned mall, filling carts with TV's and whatever they wanted. Another guy was so lonely he set up cardboard cutouts on the lawn outside his mansion and pretended to give a speech.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? I'm really hoping someone can give me the name of this movie, it's been on my mind for years.

Yeah, I watched The Quiet Earth not too long ago, and that's the movie you're describing. It's a good movie, alot better than I expected. I just rented it because I was bored, and wanted to watch something I'd never seen or heard of before. Plus I like watching bad Post-Apoc movies, and figured this would be one (but it wasn't).

I remember my parents seeing this when I was kid and they told me about it and I had always wanted to see it but had forgotten about it for at least 15 years until this thread! Thanks for reminding me!
