Any word on "The Matrix" UE single movie release?

I don't want the set and so want the new transfer of the 1st movie. Anyone hear anything of a release in the coming future?

Well, it has been announced as an HD title-presumably with the new transfer.

I think the studios still have plenty of milking to do with standard DVDs and The Matrix will eventually be re-released by itself with the new transfer. I, too, refuse to buy the boxset just for one film.

The way this set sells. it may be like the Godfather and take years to get single releases. HD will be the next standalone version, and that may be it for a long time. The set is not that expensive if you really like that movie and it seems to go on sale a lot.

Bunk.

Just keep waiting... It'll come out eventually. WB will milk this flick until it's dry, THEN they'll release the HD-DVD.

I'm with you, piss on the box. I'll upgrade when it's released as a single and not until then.

I'm sure it will happen but you'll have to wait. From strictly a business standpoint, this enables them to unload these boxsets to all of the people who have been holding out for the boxset, and to all of the people who are willing to double dip. THEN, they'll eventually release the first film seperately in order to 'sweep up' the remainder of people who were waiting for it and just won't double dip.

Quite frankly, I doubt they'll ever release the first individually until the HD release.

yeah, but it's been months now. i am sure the market is getting dried up for the set by now. "Godfather Trilogy" at least issued the 1st not too long after the set. i think this single edition would be a no brainer and mop up us stragglers who don't want to purchase the whole thing, i am sure it would be a top seller for goodness sake. it really is a win win for the studio.

The Godfather set was released in 2001, the individual release came in 2004.
