Anybody Else Watching The James Bond Marathon On Encore This Weekend?

Just curious. I didn't know whether to post this here or the TV forum but as its Bond movies I chose here. Yeah, I own them all, but there's still something neat about one playing after another without me making the choice. Harkens back to the TBS days of 007 marathons .

I'm hoping in their next incarnation the prints are cleaner; I noticed a few months ago watching OHMSS how much damage there seemed to be to the film stock.

Why would I need to sit down and watch all of the Bonds full screen and stereo when I could pop any of the 22 (yes 22) dvds in OAR into my HT. I think I'll pop in Diamonds are Forever now, Jill St. John in a bikini.

You wouldn't need to....but asQuiGonJosh made mention, having them play in the background is fun. Casual watching has it's moments.

I really need to catch up on Bond and I did consider it, but I figured I didn't want to sit around and watch the same channel for a weekend.

From Russia With Love is the greatest Bond movie ever. Nothing tops that scene in the train with Bond and Red Grant. One of the only times in the entire series that it feels like Bond is in real danger of dying.

And yes, I've had the marathon on in the background this weekend. I own all the movies though, so if I really wanted to watch them, I'd probably just pop in the DVDs for the OAR.

"From Russia with Love" is a good one. I like "Goldfinger" but the 2nd Bond movie is far more interesting simply because of the "playing both sides" element.

This marathon has also made me realize i dont like "Octopussy" anymore. I totally lost any respect for this movie when Bond started swinging from vines ala Tarzan...right after they played the Tarzan yell.

And Bond dressed up as a circus clown never bothered you the first time around?

He was sneaking into a circus...its not unreasonable that a spy would pose as a clown to get in a circus.

Swinging from vines? Was Bond required to take "vine swinging 101" before he became a field agent?
