The R2 Japan superbit is long gone from what I've been able to find out.
I'm happy with the R1 2 discer also, with the exclusive 6.1 discrete DTS track.

it is equal from the reviews I have read. The R1 gets the nod due to the extras.

All the reviews also state that the SB has NO technical advantage over the standard release. So the normal R1 release is tops.

I have looked at the R2 Superbit release and I don't think it is as good. We dumped the flags on it and it is encoded poorly compared to the US release. The R1 is superior from a technical standpoint.

on a complete aside, don't you guys think that if this movie was released in like, 2004 that japan or korea would have made a kickass LE of it? such a great movie, too bad the best version to get is just a regular 2 disc dvd...*sigh
