Any big difference between Fudoh dvds?
Can anyone tell me if there's a huge difference between the upcoming Fudoh Special Edition compared to the previous release?
I loved this movie and am wondering if there would be enough extras to merit a double-dip.
Thanks!!!

Maybe they'll include a menu this time.
For $34.99 MSRP, I hope it will at least be anamorphic. I have the region 2 special edition myself, which is anamorphic but the transfer still leaves a bit to be desired.

Interviews with Miike and Riki appear to be the only extras.
And that too.

dvdcompare mentions that the Toyko Shock version of Fudoh has burnt in subs, is this true? I haven't bought the previous disc, waiting for reviews of the new one.

Yes, the previous disc had burnt in subtitles and no menu whatsoever (which confused me the first time I watched it, as the feature is preceded by trailers for other titles). It also wasn't anamorphic, and the subtitles were placed beneath the picture, making it so the image couldn't be "zoomed" without losing the subs. It was essentially a VHS tape on a DVD.

Fudoh: Deluxe Edition
I received my copy of Fudoh: Deluxe Edition from Amazon.com today. (For some reason, DVDEmpire doesn't release this title until 3/22.) It includes a new anamorphic transfer, new 5.1 Japanese mix, new 5.1 English language version, AND a commentary track by Miike and Tanihara. PLUS, the subtitles are removable! Pretty nice. Comes in a pretty snazzy gloss slipcase.
Nice work Media Blasters!
