HD shows you watch just cuz they're HD
Last night I spent an hour watching fireworks and some Venus swimwear thing on INHD for no other reason than it was so pretty. In the last week I've seen Flutag (guys jumping off a pier) and some eating contest...all in glorious HD.
Does anyone else find they watch goofy stuff just because it's on HD?

I watch Smallville and Odyssey 5 every week, and I don't think I would if they weren't in HD.

oh yeah all sorts of stuff is at least given a chance if it's in HDtv but then I have only have HDtv for around 8 months. So on some level I'm still like a little kid with a new toy. I'm sure that wears off sooner or later.
Anyways, so HDtv = watching a few dumb sitcoms for no other reason then they are in HD etc.. Same for the tonight show really being I had more or less 100% stopped watching it before I got HDtv. Not that the show is really something one would show off as far as "this is HDtv" but everyone looks so life like being they light the show well that I find myself watching it more then I thought I would.
oh and watched my first rose parade in like.. errrrr well in like forever being I noticed it was going to be in HD on ABC so I had the cpu record it.. Damn that is one huge float.. Something ya would not even be able to see at one time with out the letter box of HDtv.

I do this too many times to mention. My most recent was the Rose Bowl parade and a Doobie Brothers concert. The concert ended up being surprisingly good BTW.

When I first got HD I too watched all sorts of nonsense but now I just watch the stuff I'd normally watch (Lost, Alias...) and the occasional nature doc when I happen to catch that it's going to be on.

I also watched like half an hour of some show about tree frogs. It may have been on Discovery Channel in HD.
I can sit mesmerized by this stuff *only* cause it's HD.
Oh, and I've watched Joey a few times too.

Define "goofy".
I have a DirecTV HD DVR and while I scan the HD listings regularly to see if there is anything interesting to record I don't think I could classify anything as goofy. Well, maybe the occasional Denver Bronco's game.
I prefer to watch shows in HD but I don't think I watch anything in HD that I wouldn't also watch in SD. For instance, I watched the Rose Bowl Parade on Discovery HD but I probably would have watched it anyway had the HD broadcast not been available. I watch as many shows on the SD channels as I do HD.
If I have one show that I watch that I could call goofy it would have to be "I Love Trains" on the RFD network which just shows videos of model train layouts. I have wishlists for "railroad" and "trains" because I'm interested in steam locomotives but those shows are almost all in SD.

Taco eating contest last week was pretty silly, but the HD glory of the skinny girl winning makes it all worthwhile, or not.
(sorry for the spoiler if you haven't seen it yet )

Our local PBS HD channel from Detroit has some amazing programs.
On sunday mornings they have this travel show in HD. All you see our aerial views taken of different coutries throughout Europe. I can watch that for hours with no sound.
Italy in HD looks amazing!!
For some reason PBS'S HD singal is "crisper" than the network feeds
PS Watching the NFL in HD is more more enjoyable also
