L&O Fans: Countdown to Rohm's departure!!!
It appears to be that Elizabeth Rohm's character "Serena Southerlyn" will be exiting the series after a (painful) 3 1/2 year run.
Her swan song will be "Ain't No Love (Episode 338)" airing on January 12th, according to www.tvtome.com.
So that makes two more episodes and we'll be rid of her.
Here's the thread about her replacement: New assistant on 'Law & Order' announced

Holy crap this is the woman who can't act! My sister watches L&O reruns all the time and everytime I walk by and this woman delivers a line I have to laugh because she's so awful.

Her OD episode was the most unintentionally funny drug moment since Jessie took those speed pills.

I did a Google Search for the epsiode title and found this descritpion of the episode:
LAW & ORDER (1/12)*
Air Date: 1/12/05 (WEDNESDAY)
Time Slot: 10:00 PM-11:00 PM EST on NBC
Episode Title: "Ain'T No Love"
Wednesday, January 12 2005
LAW & ORDER --(10:00PM-11:00PM) --(TV-14)
"Ain'T No Love"
DETECTIVES TRACK HIP-HOP SUSPECTS AFTER MASTER RAPPER IS CAPPED -- Detectives Fontana (Dennis Farina) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) move to the beat of hip-hop when a legendary rapper is shot to death and evidence points to the victim's young protege (as Shawn, guest star Sean Nelson) who was known to be cutting his own music on bootlegged street CD's -- and more clues can be found in one song's lyrics that describe a similar killing. As police tie in another previous murder, A.D.A.s McCoy (Sam Waterston) and Southerlyn (Elisabeth Rohm) seek the e-mail addresses from a thuggish record label's web site that could unlock the case -- even as the two prosecutors clash over admissable facts. S. Epatha Merkerson and Fred Dalton Thompson also star.

Truly great news. I've been trying to catch up on L&O, and she makes it almost unbearable (first half is good, then when they get to the lawyers--ouch).

In her defense (as Jobronie ducks the rotten tomatoes hurled his way):
there was a point in the middle of her second or third season where she was given a few 'showcase' episodes, and it definitely looked like she had been working with a coach, as her performances were noticably stronger. Unfortunately, it only lasted for those few eps......

I'll second (or third?) the point that she was good on Angel (not super stellar, but good)..well the OD thing wasn't her highpoint, but it was clear the writers had run out of reasons to have her on the show.
But she was bad on Law and Order...I stopped watching because she was so bad.

I've honestly never got all the hate for her. She's pretty stiff as an actor, but not unbearably so IMO. Nothing to make me not want to watch the show, and nothing to make glad (or sad) to see her go.

I remember when she debuted. I couldn't believe what I was seeing & hearing. Her performance was like watching paint dry. I was tempted to email NBC about the possibility of firing her, until I realized how stupid that idea was.
About half-way through the season it did appear that her performance had suddenly improved. As far as I'm concerned, she redeemed herself and while I don't consider her great, it no longer upset me when she walked in front of the camera.

Maybe its not the actresses themselves, but the role of McCoy's hot young female assistant that is growing old. Between Kincaid, Ross, and Carmichael, I think they've covered just about any and all boss/associate confrontations and reactions, now they're just repeating themselves (a theme for the whole show actually)

I wonder what she will do after her run on this show? I remember she was on the first 1.5 seasons of Angel and was an even worse actress then, so she'll be lucky to find someone willing to tolerate her horrid style.

wow...And here I thought I was the only one who could not stand her. I have watched her jumped from all these shows, and I kept wondering, why does she still get work? Im glad to see I'm not alone in this.

You should check the L&O fora if you think it is harsh here.
