Possibility of Son of the Beach Volume 2?

Since Son of the Beach Volume 1 is on sale at Amazon for only $15, I thought that now was a good time to post this question.

Is there any chance of getting the remaining 22 episodes of Son of the Beach on DVD? There are 43 eps total and Volume 1 has the first 21 episodes, so that leaves half of Season 2 and all of Season 3 unaccounted for.

Hopefully Volume 1 sells well enough during this sale to make Volume 2 happen.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. If V1 had sold well, you probably would have already seen a V2.

Of course, the logic that they are discounting Volume 1 to promote interest in the series would seem to indicate they have plans for a Volume 2. That seems to be the logic behind the other Fox Season 1's that have been on sale all over the place lately.

Perhaps with Roland Kickinger portraying Arnold Schwarzenegger in an upcoming biop, Fox will see to release it around then.

I wish we'd see it released, but I'm not too optimistic.

From what I heard, V2 was 'ready to go' but something happened with Howard Stern and everything went to limbo..

pity they didn't release them in 16:9 widescreen (as filmed).

(doubt that? check the outtakes on V1)

I've had Vol. 1 for like 3 years now. I doubt they'll release another season of this; or Larry Sanders Show, for that matter.

If Vol 2. hasn't been released by now, it doesn't really look good unfortunately.

I think part of the problem is that Howard Stern does not make any money off the DVDs, and therefore does not bother to promote it. In fact, when people call in and mention it, he shrugs it off and says he knows nothing about it.

I'm sure if he had points in the home video sales he'd be hawking it every day, and Volume 2 would have been marked down by now.

Well, this was a piece of unexpected yet welcome news that just showed up in my inbox: Shout! Factory is releasing Volume 2 on November 11, 2008.

I gave up hope on this long ago.

I also gave up hope for this years ago. It's great news since the DVDs are the only way I've seen the show (I didn't get FX on cable until long after they stopped airing the show). So after however many years, I'll finally be able to see the last half of the series.

I can't say I am a Son of the Beach fan, but this news is good news to me. It gives me hope the Shout Factory will pick up other abandoned shows.

If Shout Factory reps read this board, I vote for Larry Sanders Show and Everwood! COME ON!!!!
