Any Chance of a re-packaging of I Love Lucy S1?

Received a Barnes and Noble GC from some friends, and wanted to put it to good use.

Up until now I have been pretty much refusing to by the $75 S1 of I Love Lucy due to the abnormality of the set (7 or 8 volumes packaged separately). Picked up S2 right away and will be picking up S3 as well, since they figured out that it is better to do the standard packaging after S1.

But with the GC, the S1 is seeming to be tempting. Any advice on the probability of a repackaging? I was holding out in the hopes that they do repackage it to match every other TV on DVD release (including its own subsequent seasons).

If I don't get ILL S1 I will be getting the Dirty Harry Boxed set. Decisions....Decisions...

tvshowsondvd.com has an unconfirmed report that Paramount is planning on re-issuing Season One with "slimline packaging," perhaps at the same time Season Four is released (May 2005.)

It's confirmed! They'll both be released on May 3rd.

Good to hear. I will be picking up the repackaged S1 as soon as it comes out (as well as S4, the same day).

I had 2 sets, 1 for me and 1 for my mom that I sold when I heard the news. Both were still new, I hadn't openned mine yet and I was holding mom's til Mother's Day. Selling the old ones off paid for the 2 new ones + Season 4 for me.
