Everytime there is a Criterion thread listing upcoming titles, I always hope for Sword Of Doom. I love Samurai films. I clicked on this thread, scrolled down and almost wet my pants when I saw it. Cheap too for a Criterion. I emailed Homevision and Jon Mulvaney about Sword Of Doom and got the "We can't discuss titles beyond what are already mentioned." response. I should have known this meant it was in the works. First, Samurai Assassin from Animeigo in February and now this. 2 Kihachi Okamoto titles back to back.

Sword of Doom is an incredible film and I may well have to double dip on that one if the transfer is sufficiently good. Looks like I'll be returning my yet as unopened Fox Lorber Jules & Jim after the holidays as well.

...I am not so impressed with Jules and Jim's cover....they could have kept or used the MK2 covers as an inspiration.....

absolutely nothing....why?

ps
I am not sure what you have in mind but if you are asking why I am not picking up Kagemusha and Sword of Doom...there are 4 other dvds that I am picking up the same month (3 being non R1 releases) so my budget is pretty much limited. But I am not sure if this is your question....I am perplexed.

I only asked because of your post that said you're not buying any of the Asian titles.
That, and even though you're prolific in the non-R1 section, you never seem to chime in on the Asian dvd threads.
I was just wondering if there was something about Asian cinema you didn't like...
