Saw - Japanese DTS Edition

It is up for preorder on Japanese sites.
Looks like the same extras as the US release,
but the addition of an English DTS, and Japanese subtitles

For all you DTS freaks out there.....
Cost is a little under 4000 Yen

I'd wait to see if there are any R3 versions with DTS. I haven't seen any yet but they'd be a lot cheaper.

If its the same cut version as R1 gets theres no point in getting it at all. DTS means bugger all if the films cut.

The runtime is listed as 103 minutes,
3 minutes longer than the US theatrical cut.

...that plus DTS= SWEET!!!!!

I may have to get this one, but there's also a good chance Korea or Taiwan may get an exact port of this Jpn dvd.

i pre-ordered the R1 version on the net, very cheap, mail me for link.

It not having DTS is not such a big problem but it being cut is. You guys think the r2jp version is going to be uncut? Any idea of what they cut out in the r1 edition?

Well i read all version across the globe were pre cut anyway so in theory until an R1 Unrated edition comes out with all the footage back in we will have to wait, but the R1 must have been cut a lot for 3 minutes!!! there isnt that much gore in the film really, but 3 minutes is loads! must be hacksaw action and booby trap bits I guess, but really 3 minutes if that figure if true is massive!

I saw the film in UK cinema its an 18 ( and 3 minutes longer than the R1) and it still looked cut to me, so I assume the pre cuts were nasty to start with, but I didnt even think the film was that bloody really, its nasty yes, but no more than any other gore film.

The UK dvd will be uncut so I would guess the Japenese dvd will be too as they rarley cut films, its just odd that only america seems to be getting the cut version.

OK, as someone who's actually seen both cuts ...
Hard to notice stuff =
*The color timing has been changed, making it lighter in the R-rated cut
*Music levels slightly reduced to lessen impact

Obvious(SPOILERS)
*First victim(who had to dig through razor wire) is shown frantically going through the wire for about 20 seconds, when its only about 2 seconds in the R-rated cut
*Girl with the jaw trap is shown very graphically stabbing into her cellmates stomach to get the key. Then shows her digging through the guts, getting the key and struggling to open her trap. R-rated cut is not graphic at all basically and lessens impact by not showing her struggle to open her jaw trap with the key.

There is nothing else. Must either be a mistake or a mixup with PAL/NTSC running times.

I've heard people saying the UK disc (28 February) will be uncut.

Anyone got a link to that information?

I'm definitely buying this but I'd rather have the extra gore.

The UK one was uncut from all reports and we got it before anywhere else too, it did well and will be the fullest version until one day an Unrated super dooper uncut version comes along. The DVD may have DTS as EIV the company who make the dvds do DTS once in a while and there dvds go down in price very quick as well, so expect it to be cheap in a few months, as they are a very cheapo company and theres dvds are looked down on as they are mupets, but they do good dvds most the time so it should be as good as any other version out there.
