Looks like my PS2 will be getting some major use in 2005 with Kingdom Hearts 2, Final Fantasy XII and now Dragon Quest VIII!

I will probably get this, as long as it's not as tedious as VII Was with its constant running back and forth.

Ya know I TIRED to find that thread.. it seems to be missing. Every term or combination of terms I used would bring up my Dragon Quest V thread, but the VIII one was mysteriously gone. I'll try to find the link to the trailer later today and post it again.. I think anybody interested or slightly put off on the series by VII should really watch it. Unlike other game trailers, this actually shows a good amount of gameplay and not just pre-rendered non-interactive scenes.

Played the Japanese one a little bit, and was really hoping they'd bring this to our shores at some point. Great news!

Was there really any doubt this would come over? Square Enix has brought over all their big titles and this is their biggest title of all.

Since Dragon Warrior VII came out, the following titles were released and remained Japan exclusives: Dragon Quest IV PS1 Remake, Dragon Quest Monsters III: Caravan Heart, Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest and Dragon Quest V PS2 Remake. Yes, there was a bit of doubt in DQ fans.

Once they see the amount of sales this game gets, more might make their way here.

I am especially happy that the game is not one of those ugly looking stupid titles like Final Fantasy that concentrate more on looks than the actual game!

Good news! This game looks awesome. Between the Gamecube and PS2 is rpg heaven right now.
