Collateral & I Robot

Any word if there's plans to make a deluxe Collateral DVD. Iknow it's 2 discs standard but hate double dipping all the time. Also with I Robot, any word if there's a 2 disc'er coming?

I doubt they'll make another one for Collateral. Video and audio is great (gunshots sounds really cool). Extras are nice. Not overly long but very interesting and informative. Also has commentary track by Mann, this guy is a genius. He remembers the streets where it was shot and titles from Miami Vice. Very deep commentary

the region 3 hong kong edition (and i think this applies to Korea as well) of "I, Robot" is already a 2 disc set. and it appears that the bonus features is more extensive than the North American edition.

Personally, I'm holding off on I Robot for the chance of a special edition. It's just a feeling I have, based on the nature of the movie, that there will be one.

Just went to Best Buy and there were a TON of people picking up Robot. I wanted to tell them all that there's going to be a SE in a few months...but decided against it.

As long as we know that another release is on the way, then I won't complain about double dipping.

I really want I Robot but I figured I'd NetFlix it for now to see it and I'll wait a bit for any type of SE.

There's been a few posts now about I,Robot. Apparently there isn't going to be a re-release (from the people from the posts). Who needs the SE on I, Robot or Collateral when they're both anamorphic ws and have a dts track? Personally the bonus materials aren't worth much to me, I don't even watch them half the time.

I'm the opposite way. I think the movie might be only so so but all the behind the scenes stuff on this would be just as enjoyable to me as the film. Whish is why I'm willing to wait.

I doubt Collateral will get one... if anything, it'll be cut back to a single disc release at a lower price point, which Dreamworks has done often.

I, Robot might get one, but the current disc is good enough for me, plus it has a slick slipcover

Eventually, ALL NEW DVD RELEASES IN THE PAST 4 YEARS...

...will have Special Editions, Better Image Quality Transfers, More Extras, etc.

Oh, and More Bling.

Agreed about the slipcover. I was just gonna pick this movie up used but without the slipcover the cover looks terrible (just a bunch of robots). However, the clear slipcover with Will Smith makes it look much better. This is how studios should make slipcovers (i.e. it's either different from the regular coverart or adds something to the regular coverart like I Robot and The Usual Suspects).

Bling = Jewelry

Actually, you're falling behind on the terminology. Currently, it not only refers to jewelry worn by specific freaks, but also refers to a hyped product with extra features. Like, a DVD release for instance.

That must be slang that changed cuz regular suburban ppl started using it. In Urban slang, bling specifically means jewelry (more specifically lavish jewelry).

It basically means more 'shine', which in this case, means more features for the DVD's. It's changed, sure...just like 'sick' means good, ect.

Things can mean two things at once.
