The *Official* Bob Saget Appreciation Thread.

After reading about him being on a recent episode of "Joey" I got to thinking about Bob Saget. I remember watching AFHV back in the day, thinking, please will somebody drop a safe on this guy. I also refuse to watch "Full House", I have tried to tolerate it a couple times, but I just can't it.

I was just wondering though, do you think Bob Saget might be an "OK guy" and all, maybe being such a dingleberry is like an act or something and he got typecast. His role in the movie Half Baked didnt help his cause much. But you know if I did meet him, I would probably be nice to him.

If you watched his standup routine, you'd probably do a complete 180. His Full House "act" was simply that. He's pretty edgy when he's not constrained by networks and such. When he's on Howard Stern, he's always good for a few laughs.

i hear his stand up is really raunchy. which always made me wonder how the clean-cut dad on Full House would have such dirty stand-up.

If you have not seen Bob Saget in Half Baked you have not seen Bob Saget.

He was on Huff this week as a drug abusing TV star...I almost didn't recognize him because I'm so used to his Full House/AFHV persona..

I remember first seeing his stand up on one of HBO's Comic Relief specials (when the hell are they doing another one anyway?). Yes he was raunchy and I thought he was pretty damn funny.

His appearance on the Jamie Kennedy Experiment was pretty good too. Jamie was posing as a tour guide and brought the tour to Bob Saget's house. If I remember correctly, they knocked on the door, nobody was there and they just walked in. People were nosing around in things, I think they planted porn and sex toys all over the place to freak everybody out, and then Bob comes home and catches them That was the best bit I ever saw on that show.

When it comes to network television, Bob Saget is a bore (exception being his stint on a sketch during JKX).

When it comes to being uncensored, Bob Saget is a complete laugh riot. Maybe even funnier due to the fact it's the father from Full House telling dirty jokes.

Well, Bob Saget *has* arrived. In an episode of MST3K, there's a discussion of time travel brought on by the film being ridiculed (season 8, Time Chasers) and one of the thundering possibilities mentioned is to "send Bob Saget to meet Charlemagne".

I'm another that thought of his standup as soon as I read the thread title. I heard some years ago that was approaching blue and pretty danged funny.

That's the first thing I thought of as well. It was the first Saget appearance that made me think, "Maybe this guy's not such a gigantic tool after all."

This is an amazing thread. Let us not forget, as Bell65 mentioned, that Bob Saget directed one of the greatest films ever to come from the time period of mid-June 1998, "Dirty Work."
