Matrix Box set - Disc 1 only available?

I am interested in disc 1 of the Matrix box set (The Matrix) only. I want the enhanced picture, but am not interested in the rest of the crap-ola (IMHO). Anyone know where I might be able to get this? Thanks!

Yeah, you can get it in the 10-disk box set.

I really doubt they will break it up. Your best bet will be eBay, as I'm certain there are folks that will break up the set on there, but I bet there will be stiff competition for that one.

Go easy on the noob. However I agree with you.

BTW, does anyone know where I can find just the 3rd disc of the ROTK-EE?

Do I hear a 6th disc of the Alien Quad? The 6th disc of Alien Quad...the 6th disc...any bids?
That'd be the Alien 3 Revisited disc, for those who care....

Maybe we can all pitch in for one copy and just part it out. I call dibs on disc 4 of the set!

I watched the whole set this weekend. The Philosopher's Commentary and the Roots of the Matrix disc are worth the price of admission alone, not to mention the wonderful new transfer on the Matrix and the extremely well produced Revisited discs.

Hey, Tek2, you stud, did you ever stop to think that, perhaps, you're 1) a little quick to jump the gun on a Noob (because this question has not been asked before about the matrix) so there is no "so stop asking"; 2) you put new posters off by these sorts of -- dare I say -- ass like comments?

It was a simple question. I'm aware of ebay.

Well, he was a bit quick to jump on ya, but you should know for future reference that discussions about "breaking up box sets" get a bit obnoxious here on this forum. I mean, it's nothing personal, it's just tedious to read these type of questions. Hence all the jokes above.

Hey don't laugh.. I need a disc 1 of Two Towers EE. It was in my player when the apartment downstairs burned down. When I finally got to get everything from my room the DVD player had mysteriously vanished. So now I have discs 2-4.

There is always a possibility that it might be broken up in another region, like Back to the Future was in Region 3 (and with DTS!!!).

Or Alien Quadrilogy in region 1. Just because it is not being released in conjunction with the set does not mean it will not be later. I would certainly re-buy the first movie and have no interest in the rest as well.

The digital bits does have this under 2005, I wonder if it is the same as what's in the box set?

Thanks for the info, and I wouldn't be suprised if they ended up releasing it alone further down the road.

I'd love to see the first movie released as a standalone as well. I own the other two and don't need all the extras, just want that first movie cleaned up and looking better ......actually, it stands to reason this will be released by itself down the road, as was stated earlier ala' the Alien Quadrilogy..... not everyone is going to run out and buy the 10 disc set for just one movie. If the studio smells more money then it will accomodate.

I'd suggest keeping an eye on various stores nearby you which sell used discs. It'll be a bit hard, though, because you're looking for the one that the most people would want alone. I was in Kim's video over the weekend and saw a stand-alone "Return of the Jedi" in the used racks, so stuff like that happens ... but it's easier to get the "Jedi"s than the "Empire"s, you know?

To continue the "splitting up boxes" anecdotes, I bought a used copy of the MST3k box #2 and the 'Cave Dwellers' disc was broken. Months later, I found a friend who had box #2 and traded him my extra copy of 'Manos' [I got a second copy when I bought "The Essentials"] for the one I needed, so now I'm taken care of.

Has anyone had luck finding disc 1 on ebay? I keep searching but can't find any paramaters that yield the result.
