Rotk Ee In Hand [spoilers]

So, I grabbed the new EE of ROTK today. I won't have a chance to watch it all tonight, and I might not even be able to finish it by the end of the weekend, but I can answer simple questions if anyone has any.

Easter Egg Disc One:

Spoiler:
Elijah Wood introduces. It is a bogus satellite interview with Dominic Monaghan pretending to be a weird German guy and asking Wood tons of ridiculous questions (Wood can not see him, but Monaghan can see Wood.)

Could you check what subtitles are included in the movie(disc 1 and 2) and the extra discs(disc 3 and 4)

Your edition is R1 or R2?

Thanks in advance.

Holy God, how did this escape my radar? Laughing very hard at

Disc Two Easter Egg:

Spoiler:
Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn interviewing PJ for some MTV thing. Insisting that the obvious move now is to make sequels.

that is awesome that they have the MTV VV and BS spoof. How do you access the easter eggs?

Also, how did you get it so early?

Thanks for the info. Can't wait!!

I got it at a store that always has stuff early. Pretty sure it's not a bootleg.

The eggs are found the same way they were for the other two Extended Editions.

Last post for now, the total runtime including regular credits but NOT the fan club credits is...

(Drum Roll)

got my hands on it too. don't have time to watch the entire thing yet so i skipped to the two scenes i was waiting for the most.

Spoiler:
Sarumans death is pretty cool and better than what happens to him in the book, although its vaguely similar. The Mouth of Sauron is also well done. His look and voice are very creepy. Can't wait to watch the whole thing.

favorite scene so far added

Spoiler:
The drinking game between Legolas and Gimli with Gimli passing out and Legolas saying game over. Good Elf/Dwarf back and forth

Jack gets everything early. He also works for Fox and reminds us of this whenever he gets a chance.

But the scene does make the enterence of the Riders of Rohan to the battle seem so much cooler since
Spoiler:
the witch king is about to strike at gandalf right when the horn goes off
total bad ass.

and I would gladly help be of use if you ever needed any sort of benefit from that connection. need only ask. Though I didn't start, nor was I going to start this thread.

It's great that they've included the fake Elijah Wood interview. I've been looking forward to seeing it for quite some time.

You know, I thought I wasn't going to last until mid December waiting for this Extended Cut to complete my LOTR EE collection, but it's going to be here very soon and I'm thrilled that finally I can view the entire trilogy in its finality. These films branded a whole new definition of 'Extended Edition'. The most significant Extended Edition before the LOTR trilogy was probably Terminator 2, but even that didn't say all that much. Extended cuts were really just things to give people a little more they haven't seen, to make a little more money, to throw in things that were cut that were really not that important. But the whole step of the way, the LOTR films so far haven't just been little 10 minute extra (in total) scenes that really didn't mean anything. The length of extra footage put into these films in total, is all footage that really adds to character development and gives more insight into some of the things plot wise. Most could probably debate that the extra footage isn't necessary since the theatrical cuts worked fine by themselves. But, I think at the same time nobody can argue that the extra footage isn't pointless, and well worth seeing the EE more-so, over the theatrical cuts. Once you see the EE cuts, I think you can't really go back to the theatrical. Needless to say, I can't wait to see this.

Also, what is up with this new DVD Talk look? I don't think I like it at all. I want the old look!

There's been a sticky at the top of every forum for the past few days talking about the upgrade. There's also lots of activity over in the Feedback forum.

They're usually on the chapter selection menu (of each disc) where you select the last chapter group and then go to the last chapter within the group and hit "down" on your remote, and a lit icon of some sort pops up. I think it was "The Ring", if you know what I mean. Select that and the easter egg plays. Most of them so far have been some MTV spoof of some sort. On the FOTR-EE, one of them was a Jack Black and Michele Geller spoof of the Council of Elrond scene. Another on the TTT-EE, was a Gollum acceptance speech of a MTV movie award. Needless to say it was Gollum all the way.
