FYI: Collateral DVD Comes With Mann Commentary Track

i got a copy of the 2-disc set today, and i just thought i'd let you all know that it comes with a commentary track with Michael Mann.

i believe it was never announced to have one, and it doesn't appear on any specs listing on any online stores i've checked out.. the track isn't listed on the back of the DVD cover either (!) nor does the first disc have a "special features" menu. you'll find the commentary track in the audio section.

i've listened to it briefly, and it sounds like a very good commentary track.

the second disc has a 40 minute documentary on the making of it (that i wish had been longer), and then there are a bunch of shorter clips and features that amount to about 10 minutes, one of them a deleted scene.

video and audio quality looked and sounded superb to me.

Thanks for the info - makes a DVD I planned on getting anyway even more enticing.

Terrific news.

BTW, I just watched The Terminal for the first time (about three weeks after seeing Collateral in a theater), and at the end of the movie when Viktor
Spoiler:
goes to the jazz club
I got a strange feeling of deja-vu. Then I realized that Barry Shabaka Henley, who plays the airport's head security guard, also appears in Collateral
Spoiler:
in the film's seminal jazz club scene
. I know this is rather trivial but I just felt like mentioning it since these unexpected, coincidental associations are always fun.

Great news. This is getting released the same week as Heat SE, right? I'm hoping for a deal on the two of 'em.

Last I saw, Heat:SE was scheduled for release on February 22, 2005(not Dec. 14th with Collateral).

Yah I totally forgot they pushed heat that far back, which is a bummer. Oh well, I guess my wallet can just hurt later.
