ALL PLAYERS REPORT IN: Anyone for a private Half-Life 2 mplayer game this weekend?

Shall
we
play
a
game?

Anyone want to play? We can do Counter-Strike, I guess, but I'd rather do classic deathmatch (I'm so juiced that they remade a bunch of the Quake 1 maps!) Let's settle on a time. I've got the whole weekend set aside for coding, so I can work it in pretty much any time.

This is Valve software. Of course the lag is awful.

Valve is a really frustrating company, because their products make fantastic games but really bad applications. Their games are fun, gorgeous, and have interesting content. But as programs, they run really poorly - weird sound stuttering (everywhere), crashes, poor network support, even mouse lag. It's very strange.

Saturday afternoon will probably work fine for me. Say, 4-5pm? We'll get details (server, passwd, etc.) locked down closer to the weekend.

Duh huh. Thanks.

4PM EST. That's 3PM Central, 2PM Mountain, and 1PM Left-Coast Nutjob Zone.

I'll do it, though I work until about 8pm EST this weekend. Don't change the time on my account though. Maybe we could just set a latter time as well if there are others willing?

I have no interest in CS. Of course, Steam is too busy right now for me to download the HL2M

I hope I can make this. Finally my lifelong dream of hitting Trigger in the head with a toilet will be realized!

Damn. Does this mean we're playing on an East coast server? David, I always thought you were in SF (maybe because of your username?).

I'm up for a little CS: Source also. I played HL2 DM last night. While it was fun for about 10 minutes, it got old pretty fast. Run, shoot, kill, die. Repeat.

Hey, at least you got all four. Usually I only manage the "run" and "die" parts.

No address yet. - In fact, I'm currently reinstalling a bunch of Steam stuff. My installation somehow got corrupted - starting up any game would produce an error - and I had to reinstall. So now I'm downloading Deathmatch Classic and CounterStrike, and this will take probably another 90 minutes. No way I can download all of CS: Source or anything else in time for the match.

So it's gonna have to be CounterStrike (the original) or DM Classic, which actually would have been my pick anyway. Maybe tomorrow or next weekend we could do Half-Life 2 DM or CS: Source...?

You guys are free to pick something else, but I won't be able to join you. I could always join you next weekend.

I am up for this message me on steam name is schmedy there too. I mostly play DoD and you can check out our servers and info at uberdod.com we have a fast box and connection and quite a few games on the box. If I get some notice and intrest we can prob set up a hl2 CS server, but for sure as DoD source is out we will have that up.

If you want to play Dod then since HL2 is out we can play on our server.

Day of Defeat will take me approximately 150 minutes to download.

Who's up for what? Again, if you guys want to play something other than DM Classic and Counter-Strike, that's cool, but I can't join you today.

This download's going really slowly, guys. I dunno why it's taking so long. Doubtful I'll be ready in 12 minutes. This sucks.
