Seinfeld Reunion on Oprah Today
Just an advisory for anyone interested : The Seinfeld cast will have their only reunion on the Oprah show today. I'm really suprised that they didn't want to have a reunion as a prime-time special and instead put the DVD extra "How It Began" on NBC in ER's time slot. This should be well worth watching today.

Crap! Thanks for the heads-up. It's too late for me to set a VCR for it now though. What time is Oprah on? 4:00EST? I won't be home from work.
I was disapointed in the NBC "special". Not a reunion by any stretch of the imagination.

Good news. My wife just informed me that there is going to be another Oprah show on Oxygen tonight (7:00PM EST, 11-29-04)with the Seinfeld cast. Good news for those of you (like me) that won't be home in time to catch the regular Oprah. If you have that channel that is...

Well. She spent 20 minutes talking to Jerry.
Spent 5 minutes talking to the other three (each).
The other 12-15 minutes talking to them all.
NOTHING REALLY SPECIAL.
That show contains so many damn commericials though! I guess they have to pay some portion of her outrageous salary somehow.

Larry David should have been there! I didn't see it all yet, but was he even mentioned? I am assuming that he was, since he was integral to the whole phenomenon.

You forgot to mention the other 32 minutes of her OVEREMPHASIZING something by holding her arms up and SHOUTING IT. Followed by the rabid estrogen display of mass screaming and clapping...
What a total handjob by the big O. Guess she already had a lock with the built-in audience with the "reunion". Didn't need to worry about the way the "other three" finally agreed to participate on the DVDs...

She would come back from commercials, make one or two remarks, then say "we will be right back."
Man if I was a stay at home mom with nothing but a baby and daytime talk shows to occupy my mind, I believe my brain would turn to rice pudding.

The "other three" comment was my own little niche based on this little "reunion". Sad that Jerry Seinfeld gets most of the attention (of course he helped write the show), but Alexander, Louis-Dreyfus, and Richards made that show what it was with how they did their parts. It wouldn't be the same without them, too!
---------------------------------------
Those damn people clapped way too much and for some of the dumbest stuff.
Jerry: I love Bic pens.
Audience: CLAPS and LAUGHS
Oprah: They offered you $110 million to return...
Audience: CLAPS and LAUGHS
Oprah: ...to do a tenth SEEEAAASSSZZZOON?
Audience: CLAPS and LAUGHS
and you know with Oprah you gotta have the obligatory "celebrity home segment" featured....
Oprah: You bought Billy Joel's house.
Jerry: Yeah I bought it.
Oprah: So you bought it and you gutted it?
Jerry: We just thought it could be better.
Oprah: Why?
Jerry: Because I can.
Oprah: How long did it take?
Jerry: A year and a half.
Oprah: Wow! It took mine three and a half years!
Audience: CLAPS and LAUGHS.

Ugggh!! I watched oprah for the first time in forever and a day. I need to bathe over and over again. I feel repugnant for becoming, for one hour even, one of her mindless cows.

Just a quick comment on missing it today, if you're in the Seattle area, it repeats on KONG (channel 6 or 16 depending) at 9pm the same night, so tonight at 9pm. I might watch it just for a bit.

But man that was awful. Sorry if my original post cost anyone an hour of their life. That was a nearly complete waste. The ONLY thing I got from it was Jason's story about how Jerry told them during the last show that whenever anyone thought of one of them, they would think of all four of them. That's true and pretty cool. But besides that, the show was such a complete ass-kiss/ jerk off that Oprah should have thrown five twenties down on the table and shouted "I'm out!" before it was over.

Did they stick around for the "After the show" show that she does for Oxygen? I Tivo'd it this morning hoping that they would actually have some questions for the rest of the cast or more stories or something.

I still laugh when I think of the SNL skit of one of her Favorite Things shows...especially after seeing the most recent one with all of the school teachers....it's funny cuz it's true.
