Any news on Rebel Without a Cause SE/CE?

Next year is the 50th Anniversary of Rebel Without a Cause (as well as East of Eden). Warner has been doing quite well with their releases (the 2-disc editions, signature collections, noir boxset and the coming gangster set come to mind) and you would think that this would be the perfect time to release Rebel Without a Cause. Up to know it has only been given no good treatment on DVD and exits only in an early format release.

I heard that East of Eden would be released next year as a SE. Any word on Rebel?

Hardly when compared to Warner's other recent releases. For example, the transfer of Reble is not nearly as spectacular as Gone With The Wind. Although I would like to see a commentary and some better extras the film is paramount here and I would love to see it cleaned up slightly. Yet, there are many extras that could be placed on a 2-disc set and this film has a current sub-par release for how amazing it is.

Both of these deserve that WB magic - two very special films that need all the SE the studio can muster!
