As Usual, I'm the only Bloke who bought the new GODZILLA game.

Godzilla: Save the Earth

I bought the XBOX version and it's a cool game just like the original PLUS it has LIVE capabilites. I played some folks the other day and it was tons of fun. Granted there aren't that many online but whatta you gonna do? There's new "mon-stahs" including, Jet Jaguar, Baragon, Megaguirus, Moguera, playable Mothra adult and larva versions, and Space Godzilla.

There's also "Mini games" in certain modes. I played a "bowling game" duinr the story mode where you stand on one side of a valley and 3 "mon-stahs" stand on the other side throwing huge boulders at you. You have to knock all three out at the same time with boulder hits to win. Each knock out last 30 seconds.

I really want this, but not for $39.99... maybe when it drops to $29.99 I'll consider it.

Yeah. I bought Destroy All Monsters and played it with my friend who's a huge Godzilla fan. I didn't like the fact that it was a button masher, so I've stayed away from Save the Earth.

I would, however, buy it in a second if the Smog Monster (Hedorah) was in it.

And the cheesy "Save the Earth" theme song, too.

Was thinking of getting this one too but have already picked up more than I can handle for now.

Anyway, just one question regarding the fighting system:

Do you perform each monsters special moves using a combination movement of the left thumbstick then a button press? (i.e. Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, every dam fighting game, etc.).

Hmmm, I guess. Here's one move from each level of G 2000 and King Ghidorah's system.

Godzilla 2000 moves: (Blunt attack) Tail snap...press B button. (Edged attack) Double Kick...Down + A button. (Weapon Attacks) Red Atomic Breath...press and hold black button to charge. Release to fire.

King Ghidorah moves: (Blunt attack) Dragon Death Kick...Away from opponent +X button (Edged attacks) Landing bite...Right trigger then A button. (Weapon attacks) Hurricane winds...Press and hold B button while flying. (Special abilities) Electrical Regeneration...press right trigger + Left trigger to convert energy to health.

Hopefully this will give you and idea of how it works. It's not that different from the "MELEE"

OK, I see.
Very short, simple sequences.
I like that.

I just can no longer stand the fighting games where you've got to press the D-pad in a quarter-circle or half-circle, etc. etc. before you press a punch/kick button. After awhile, my left thumb feels like it's been put through a grinder...and doing those combos with the thumbstick rarely gets the right attack to perform.
It just doesn't feel right unless I've got a joystick with those types of fighting games.

well since in japan, toho despises Hedorah, you can count on it being a very minor character in the game.

Well I like the extra monsters...but Atari could have done a whole lot more to make this game better. And as for those challenge/mini game levels, whoever decided on that camera control should be shot. I would recommend waiting for this game to hit $20 before you buy.

I picked this up yesterday at GameStop for $20. GameStop is the only retailer that has it new for that price, but they aren't reordering it, so if you want it, pick it up!

I bought it for my son for Christmas. He's unlocked everything there is to unlock(did so back in January). I used to whoop him at Godzilla DAMM, but
he annihilates me at STE. He's 6. LOL

My 5 y/o son plays this on PS2 and kicks my ass constantly. He desperately wants to play people on-line (needs the competition) but there is never anyone on the other side when he tries.

$20 at Gamestop isn't low enough?
I didn't even realize it was marked down already. I'll check out my local GS.
Thanks for the heads-up everyone.
