PS2 Demo Disc erases memory card?!?
Got this in my e-mail today...
"Dear PlayStation(R) Underground Member,
You are scheduled to receive the Holiday 2004 Demo Disc
including the playable Viewtiful Joe 2 - please take note.
It has just been brought to our attention that there is a
glitch in this demo which will erase all of your saved files
from your Memory Card(s). If you have not yet played the
Viewtiful Joe 2 demo, please remove your Memory Card(s)
from your PlayStation(R) 2 computer entertainment system
before you load the Holiday 2004 Demo Disc.
Sony Computer Entertainment America would like to express
our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have
caused you."
Holy Crap! I was planning on busting this out this weekend. Good to know. Or is this fake?

I did not check out this demo yet. Glad this was posted before I did.
I would have been rather pissed. I got the disc yesterday, but hadn't had time to play it yet.

Happened to me. It was my main memory card. Had my GTA: SA saves, along with a bunch of my older games. The sad thing is, I was only a little over 1/3 of the way thru GTA, but I'm the kind of person that if I have to do a large portion of a game over again, I'll usually just quit it instead. So I don't know how gung ho I'll be on starting over. Needless to say, I'm highly pissed.

I gave the demo someone I work with yesterday since I traded my PS2 in ages ago. but still get the demos. Needless to say I was glad to see him at work today so I could warn him.

Then of course, if you have a broadband adapter, you can sign up to beta test, and get into a bunch of betas for free.
Its really worth it to sign up, you get a whole bunch of free stuff. Not sure why Microsoft and Nintendo don't do similar.

When you sign up, they send you a gift (my being a CD case designed to hold PS2 games and their manuals, which also had a note pad and pen for taking down notes). Then, they will occasionally send you free demos to games or the seasonal demo pack. I'd say probably 4-5 a year or so. Every once in a while you will get a coupon good for $10 off a PS2 game from your nearest retailer.

OK logged in and it saying you are not logged into the PS underground. So is that all I have to do to get free stuff? All my info have been entered.

Nintendo has cool stuff like Club Nintendo in Japan, don't know why they won't do it in the US. Nintendo did send out the Zelda disc and the Metroid Prime II demo, but it would be nice if they did more.

When you sign up for the Underground, you have to make sure you have filled out the address as well so they can send you stuff. Its been so long since I've done it, I'm not sure what is necessary. Pretty much, fill out anything you can.

Got the demo in the mail and got a warning in the mail a few days later. Good thing I've been wasting my time watching all those TV DVD's that I got from the Amazon sale. :P
