Big Spoilers for Enterprise (updated 11/24)

In what looks like it's going to be the most epic of the three announced and/or aired arcs so far this season, Enterprise delves into a three-episode storyline dealing with the Andorians, Tellarites and the Romulans.

Here's the details for the first episode "Babel One":
Enterprise is assigned to transport a Tellarite ambassador across Andorian space to the neutral planet Babel, where Earth mediators will try to settle a bitter dispute between the Tellarites and Andorians. The journey is interrupted by a distress call from Shran, whose warship Kumari was destroyed by what he believes to be a Tellarite vessel. Other attacks ensue by what appears to be an Andorian vessel. This puts the Tellarites and Andorians at each other's throats, but we come to learn someone else is actually behind the attacks. The events of this and the next two episodes will serve as a precursor to the Romulan Wars which, according to canon, is imminent within a few years (per "Balance of Terror" as well as "The Defector" and others).
Romulans will be seen in the episode, but keeping with canon, they won't be seen by any of the characters. A later episode of the arc will see Archer and Shran going to the Andorian homeworld.

That'd be funny, but no. I bet that would get them in trouble with the FCC for demeaning them. Not that anything could be more demeaning to those individuals than "The Littlest Groom" from FOX.

Reading that synopsis reminded me why I don't watch Enterprise. My head is still spinning. Remember the good ol' days, when a Star Trek synopsis was merely something like "Kirk splits into two seperate beings - one good, one bad" or "Picard gets kidnapped by the Borg"?

Anyway, as far as Enterprise this season goes:
No Bill Shatner guest starring = No Sale

Well, this is a detailed synopsis from the startrek.com production report. It's detailed since that's the point of the reports.

And I wouldn't put hope away yet for Shatner. His newsletter last week said something about him making an announcement about Enterprise this week. I don't know what he's going to announce, but it would be lame if he promoted it like that only to say he wasnt going to do the show.

Yeah Enterprise is the weakest of them all, followed closely by Deep Shit 9.

When settling a dispute between two species, I would think a planet named Babel would be a poor choice.

These story lines sound great to me. This is exactly what Enterprise was supposed to be about 3 years ago (events leading to the creation of the United Federation of Planets).

Here's some new spoilers for the 2nd episode of the Andorian/Tellarite/Vulcan/Human/Romulan arc from startrek.com:

Spoiler:
The episode is titled "United," conceived by Manny Coto and scripted by Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens. Picking up from where "Babel One" left off, Archer and his crew determine that a single marauder ship is responsible for the attacks which threaten to pit the various species in the region against each other. In order to locate this stealth vessel, T'Pol and Mayweather have devised a wide-range "virtual" sensor grid that will require the cooperation of over 100 ships. Archer then forges an alliance among Andorians, Tellarites and Vulcans to accomplish this and track down the marauder — an alliance which proves very tenuous when Shran challenges a Tellarite to a duel. Also at stake are the lives of Trip Tucker and Malcolm Reed, who in the previous episode got trapped on the rogue ship when Enterprise first encountered it and it suddenly fled. The two officers are stuck in a section of the vessel without life support, and they have to match wits with an unseen enemy in order to survive (the unseen enemy, of course, being those pesky Romulans).

And here's some info about an upcoming Klingon episode that will deal with something that has always bothered some people.

Spoiler:
In an upcoming episode entitlled "Affliction" the Klingons are back, as well as the first appearance of the Rigellians. Phlox and Hoshi are attacked by the Rigellians. Reed and a Klingon are in what appears to be the Columbia's brig. A Klingon is being experimented on by a Klingon scientist who is altering the Klingons forehead!!!

Spoiler:
Wasn't there a multi-ship sensor grid used back in a ST: TNG episode?

Who are the Tellarites? I havent been watching much since the first season and I dont remember them from any other incarnation of Trek.

Yes, I agree too. B& B totally changed the premise after the show premiered.

They go way back to the original series episode, "Journey to Babel". They haven't been used much and only appeared on the original series a couple times and never in any of the spin-offs until Enterprise. They've basically been used just a little less than Andorians in the history of the franchise.

They are very important to the history of the Federation since they are one of the four founding members, along with Earth, Vulcan, and Andoria.

Because Jeffrey Combs rocks, man.

(I still haven't forgiven Peter Jackson for bumping him off Grima Wormtongue. Although Deadwood has convinced me that Brad Dourif deserves his share of love, too.)
