Best/Worst Band Names
Just wondering what everyone's favorite and least favorite band names were. It'd be nice if they were relatively well-known bands, but obscure bands or bands that you were in or never existed are fine too.
Winners:
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of The Dead (even though I don't really dig their music)
The Blood Brothers
Saves the Day
The Clash
The Postal Service
Sigur Ros
Queen (hah)
Losers:
A Static Lullaby
Say Anything (a shame, because their album is one of my favorites of 2004)
Taking Back Sunday
H2O
The Beatles (I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but it's one of the lamest puns EVER)

I don't know what one would consider to be a bad name, only bad music.
Associate a bad name with a bad song and its doom
The Beatles...good
Right Said Fred...bad
btw FatTony we had a Seattle Otters (DVDTalk Other Forum) meet last week.

Jambands tend to have the worst band names...
Perpetual Groove
Psychedelic Breakfast
Hot Buttered Rum String Band
String Cheese Incident
Umphrey's McGee
moe. (not necessarily the band name but the punctuation)
The Big Wu
Zen Tricksters
...Of a Revolution
All horrible names...

You really need to put "The Beatles" in the context of their time, along with Lennon's flaming pie vision.
my picks,
best: Throbbing Gristle
worst: Throbbing Gristle

The best, my name sake - Carter:The Unstoppable Sex Machine. I always liked Foetus, and all of their names, Ben Folds Five, Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion.
Hate Hootie and the Blowfish, on so many levels. Doobie Brothers, although in the late 60s/early 70s it might have been clever, most rap artist that try to get clever and play on other pop icons.
