Song ID help

Okay, I've got this song in my head, but the only lyrics I can remember is "I feel fine." I know it definitely isn't the Beatle's song, and the "I feel fine" part is in the chorus.

I know this is definitely vague, but you guys have never failed before, so I figure I'd give it a shot.

It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)?

That’s great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn -
world serves its own needs, don’t misserve your own needs. Feed it up a knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height,
down height. Wire in a fire, represent the seven games in a government for
hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn’t coming in a hurry with the furies
breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it’ll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
light, feeling pretty psyched.

It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Six o’clock - TV hour. Don’t get caught in foreign tower. Slash and burn,
return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning,
blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate. Light a candle,
light a motive. Step down, step down. Watch a heel crush, crush. Uh oh,
this means no fear - cavalier. Renegade and steer clear! A tournament,
a tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
and I decline.

It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide. Mountains sit in a line.
Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic,
slam, but neck, right? Right.

It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine...fine...

(It’s time I had some time alone)

That's REM right? Definitely not that one. Good try though.

For the more musically inclined:

I feel fine, ba dum da dum, piece of mind??

Obviously it isn't "ba dum da dum" and I honestly don't even think the piece of mind part is right, haha.

if in 4/4
I = half note
feel = half note
fine = quarter
dotted eighth
ba = sixteenth ('uh' of 2)
dum = dotted eighth
da = sixteenth
dum = quarter
piece = half
of = half

For the 'I feel fine' the notes go progressively lower, and then back up on the 'ba dum da dum' and then back down on the 'piece of mind'. I'm not gauranteeing all of that is perfect, but that's what's in my head,

A few questions:

Slow or fast song?
Male or female singer?
What type of music would you categorize it as? Pop? Rock? Alternative?

Bottom line, tell us a little more about the song.

The song is around 120 bpm, male singer, genre is rock.

And this might be helpful, my wife thinks it is on a recent car commercial.

Cream?

I Feel Free
by Jack Bruce and Pete Brown

Feel when I dance with you,
We move like the sea.
You, you're all I want to know.
I feel free, I feel free, I feel free.

I can walk down the street, there's no one there
Though the pavements are one huge crowd.
I can drive down the road; my eyes don't see,
Though my mind wants to cry out loud.

I feel free, I feel free, I feel free.

I can walk down the street, there's no one there
Though the pavements are one huge crowd.
I can drive down the road; my eyes don't see,
Though my mind wants to cry out loud,
Though my mind wants to cry out loud.

Dance floor is like the sea,
Ceiling is the sky.
You're the sun and as you shine on me,
I feel free, I feel free, I feel free.

I Feel Fine
by Riddlin' Kids

Right now I really don't care if I'm alone or if I got you sittin' here.
Oh, no look I've done it again.
Man I should think about it before I say anything.
1, 2, 3, 4, looks like I'm alone again and...

I feel fine.
Doesn't really matter now cause I'm all right.
She knocked me on my ass again, but I don't mind.
Looks like I'm alone again and I feel fine.

Right now I don't know what to say, because you're mean and I never liked you anyway.
Don't ever call cause I don't want to be friends.
Excuse me now because the chorus is comin' up again.
1, 2, 3, 4, looks like I'm alone again and...

I feel fine.
Doesn't really matter now cause I'm all right.
She knocked me on my ass again, but I don't mind.
Looks like I'm alone again and I feel fine.

They come and go and I don't feel a thing.
It's not causeI'm a jerk and I don't care.
And I don't know what's the matter with me.
I only know the right girl still out there.

I feel fine.
Doesn't really matter now cause I'm all right.
She knocked me on my ass again, but I don't mind.
Looks like I'm alone again and I feel fine.
I feel fine.
Doesn't really matter now cause I'm all right.
She knocked me on my ass again, but I don't mind.
Looks like I'm alone again and I feel fine.

damn good at this by Jesus Jones (written by Mike Edwards)
from the EP right here, right now

it's your life, do what you want
it's your life, and i'd love to say i couldn't care less
to tell you the truth you know, that i'd
love to say just something to you
it's my life, and for now, it's still a mess

don't waste your time asking me
'cause i feel fine
all the times i've been through this before made me
damn good at this

take your time, don't hurry back
ooh, but i didn't mean it
it's only pride that makes me say that

don't waste your time asking me
'cause i feel fine
all the times i've been through this before made me
damn good at this

i'm open to suggestion, but
only those i wan't to hear
whoa-whoa
cannot shed a single tear

don't waste your time asking me
'cause i feel fine
all the times i've been through this before made me
damn good at -- damn good at this

Well, I finally figured it out. I was asking someone about the song, and he said he though the missing part was "talkin' bout", so I googled and found it. Of course this would have been much easier had I spelled "peace" correctly the first time I googled for it

Nonetheless, here we have it. Thanks for all the suggestions though!!

DRAGGIN' THE LINE
Tommy James and the Shondells

Makin' a living the old hard way
Takin' and giving by day by day
I dig snow and rain and bright sunshine
Draggin' the line (draggin' the line)
My dog Sam eats purple flowers
We ain't got much but what we got's ours
We dig snow and rain and bright sunshine
Draggin' the line (draggin' the line)
Draggin' the line (draggin' the line)
I feel fine I'm talkin' bout peace of mind
I'm gonna take my time I'm gettin' the good sign
Draggin' the line (draggin' the line)
Draggin' the line (draggin' the line)
Loving the free and feelin' spirit
Of huggin' a tree when you get near it
Diggin' the snow and rain and bright sunshine
Draggin' the line (draggin' the line)
I feel fine I'm talkin' bout peace of mind
I'm gonna take my time I'm gettin' the good sign
Draggin' the line (draggin' the line)
Draggin' the line (draggin' the line)
Draggin' the line (draggin' the line).....

After looking into the song a little bit, it turns out that this was the first hit song for Tommy James without the Shondells (1971), so I guess I have it wrong up there.
