Claymation movie title?
Okay, I have minimal info from a coworker about this film he saw in his youth, and once later on some psychotropic substance.
Its claymation. The main character has a Russian name similar to Peter. He has a group of people with him who help him on his journey. One is an archer with a giant eye who can see far. One is an old man with big ears who can hear well. One is a woman who could eat everything. One is a red-haired lumberjack(?) type guy who carries around a bundle of sticks that can turn into soldiers.
Any help?

You've just described The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship
It's based on a wonderful picture book of the same name.

That looks like it. Thank you so much, although I can't believe someone knew that. I might actually have to watch this....maybe.

this 1990 animated film was part of the PBS "Long Ago and Far Away" series. Surprisingly the story is very reminscent of one of the tales of Baron Munchausen and I'd be quite curious which influenced which.

It's also been filmed as a short in 1961 as Askeladden og de Gode Hjelperne , based on an old Norwegian fairytale very similar to the Russian tale.
