I've never had a chance to see many short films, but while in college our town hosted the Kudzu Film Festival, and there were a few movies that stuck out to me.

12 Stop on the Road to Nowhere (absolutely hysterical)
Peep Show (I think this was the title)
Spoiler:
(a woman goes to peep shows to receive compliments and get off)

There was also an incrediblity bizarre movie about a family
Spoiler:
who was so inbred that they had evolved into their own blood type. Strange.

I've never seen it, but I'd really like to see "Blixa Bargeld Stole My Cowboy Boots."

Isn't this short basically a collage of pictures? I've been interested in seeing this one as it was the inspiration or basis for 12 monkeys.

Yep, all stills, except for one scene. I think it's pretty cool. It's available on one of those Shorts DVD compilations.

Short 2: Dreams to be specific. La Jetee is my answer to this question too, I bought that disc just for that film.

Also, I'm surprised no one has mentioned the classic Bambi meets Godzilla yet. That's got to be my second favorite. Also, a number of the Bill Plympton animated shorts are hilarious.

One I've been curious about but haven't and likely will never see is called Dolphins. Have no idea how good it is though.

Is there a way to do a search on something like IMDb for short films?

Not a favorite by any stretch, but I will never forget a short called Cutting Moments. Now that, is gruesomeness.

Gravity

Very cute "educational film" about the Gravity shortage. They show it every year at the 24 hour Science Fiction marathon here in Columbus.

If anyone knows where to find it on other media (vhs, online), let me know.

I also always liked 12:01 PM. It has the same premise as Groundhog Day but is more intense.
