Night Court Season 1! --> 2/8

From www.tvshowsondvd.com

Warner Bros has announced a slew of new TV titles for release on February 8th. We've already told you that Full House, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Murphy Brown were coming to DVD in 2005, but now Warner has announced The Wayans Bros, The Jamie Foxx Show and Night Court will join them. That's right, 6 comedies will receive Season 1 sets on the same day, and Warner Bros intends to launch a large promotion around the titles.

The 13 episodes (338 mins) of Night Court season 1 will retail for $29.98, though you should be able to find it discounted to $25. The season will be released on 2 single-sided discs, with an English mono soundtrack, and English, French and Spanish subtitles. Extras haven't been announced, but there are some on the set.

Before anyone starts bashing the S1 cast (which I'm sure is forthcoming, unfortunately), let me just say that with the exception of the lack of Markie Post, this was a SUPERB cast in my opinion, and no collector should be without the FIRST season of this gem!

Gotta love Karen Austin!

I never imagined this would come out on DVD. It got really weird when Dan and homeless guy were so heavily used but the first few seasons were amazing.

SWEET!!!! Now I only wait for the release of Family Ties season one to complete my most wanted 80's NBC sit coms on DVD.

I watched this series when it first aired and each time A&E ran through it. I can't wait to see it on DVD and without the syndication cuts!

I only saw the episodes where Markie Post is in it but I never saw the first season or the seasons without Markie Post and the reason why I only saw the episodes with Markie Post is because they never air the eposides without Markie Post.

Good news, indeed. The third best sit-com of the 1980's behind only Cheers and Family Ties in my opinion (I'm not counting Taxi and Barney Miller, because they overlapped into the 1970's).

How many seasons did NC run? I would guess about seven or eight. Hope we'll get the whole run.

All time favorite Night Court gag:

When Bull got the mail order toupee: the Shatner Turbo 2000. IMHO, that joke will live in immortality...

Wow, I haven't seen Night Court in a long time. Do they still repeat it on TV? I remember it being on A&E or something, but haven't seen it a few years now.

It's been nearly 4 or 5 years since I saw it on TV. They just don't rerun the great ones anymore, do they? And for some reason, this show seemed to escape Nick at Nite and TV Land. That's another reason I embrace TV shows on DVD...so many of my favorite shows are not in syndication anymore and hardly seen. On DVD, I can have them to watch whenever I want!

This one is a blast from the past. I remember watching this one when I was much younger. Now we can see the steady progression of baliffs.
Calhoun07, I have seen where they show Night Court on the Biography Channel.
