True, true. Maybe he hit the flash on accident? Yeah, it's his hobby but that doesn't mean he couldn't have done it on accident.
Also, are the spoiler tags necessary? I mean, are people who haven't seen a movie going to go into a thread that's called "The dumbest part about X was..."?

I'd say the dumbest thing in SAW was allowing Cary Elwes to deliver a performance like that. Ugh. Nice idea, but the execution left a lot to be desired, though I'll give em credit for pulling it off at only a million.

The dumbest thing about this movie was watching Cary Elwes and whoever that other dude was blubbering like little babies. God that was annoying. I understand it was a horrible predicament they were in, but jesus!!!! The crying was laughable.

I serioiusly think they could of done more to get out. One of the guys chained up had the ends of unsupported 2" round pipes sticking out next to him. The whole time I felt he should of been bending one of them back and forth to break it off.
The pipe he was chained to was rusty and cast iron and perhaps could of been cracked with repeated whacking. OR he could of used the 3+ foot of pipe to get the gun from mr clean.

Regardless, I really liked this movie, and can't wait to see it again.

I liked this movie. It's biggest flaw was Cary Elwes, so I agree with you, jaeufraser. I've never been fond of that man.
Otherwise, it was a good movie, worth a look when you're on the mood for something dark, or what you should call it. Interesting environments, interesting tricks, interesting games.

Cary Elwes is cool, just not in that kind of part. I thought the dumbest thing was the doctor cutting so damn high on his leg instead of just cutting the front part of his foot and sliding the chain cuff down.

I still don't think someone can lay still down there for 8 hours. you'd think after being locked up for so long, that they would have cut the guy with glass or something to make sure he really was dead.

I thought the stupidest thing was the cops looking around the guy's lair and then hiding when he comes up the elevator, when they both have shotguns and shit, and then dont proceed to A) Rush him and get him flat on his stomach and search him and B) Take off his stupid hood to see his face all the minute he gets off of the elevator, who else were they expecting to get out? The cleaning lady?
