Shrek: The Story So Far 4 DVD Set $29.99 at FYE

I was at the local Fye and saw this on sale for $29.99...

After I did alittle online checking, seems like a good price...

YMMV...

Just becareful that you know what you are getting. Both the Shrek and the Shrek 2 are FULL SCREEN. So, if you want the widescreen version, you are spending $29.99 for the 3D version alone, unless you plan on trying to sell the full screen on Ebay.

FYE's price is good. But they are wrong on the format. There is no widescreen versions of this set. Also they then post this:

DVD Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1 - Pre-1954 Standard

"Your [actual] mileage may vary" is a boilerplate term put into all automobile ads many years back when automakers quoted city and highway mpg figures. It's entered the general lingo as a phrase meaning, roughly, "this is what I think/believe/experienced, and your results or views may be different."

I believe the 3-D short movie is the same movie that plays at the Universal Theme Parks in California and Florida. I don't believe it was made for home video.

Just wondering whether I would have to cut the box to get upc code. I know sometimes the upc code is on the plastic.

I believe the 15 minute Shrek 3D is widescreen and the movies are both fullscreen.

You are correct, sir. Shrek 3-D is the only disc that is Anamorphic Widescreen in the Box set.

I have the same dilemma. The UPC seems to be printed on the box. Removing the UPC would simply destroy the box with a hole in it.

From the DVD set I saw in different stores, the UPC is printed on a sticker which is on the outside of shrink wrap. I don't see any bar code printed on the box set. I think we only need to submit the UPC sticker without damaging the box.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Don't forget to use the $5 off $30 Coupon if you order the gift set @FYE.com

Good news!

Check out this thread for the coupon.

The final cost can be brought down to less than $18 after applying the coupon and free budget shipping! If you don't want the Shrek 1 & 2 DVD in Foolscreen, sell them on ebay to get at least $20 back. You not only make money, but get a good-looking box set for free!

Definitely good deal!

Also the dvds are individually shrinked wrapped with UPCs.

I couldn't resist the Shrek giftset deal. My order came out to be $39.99 - $5 coupon = $34.99 /w free shipping. After the $20 mail-in rebate, the giftset would only cost $15

The UPC is a sticker on the shrinkwrap, so no need to deface the nice box. The DVDs are individually sealed and it's easier to sell them away.

Thanks for the deal. I'm glad I waited...

So there is no problem getting the rebate if you have used a coupon?
