Do you think Halo 2 will hit bargain bin soon?

Considering that a lot of people bought this first hand, do you think the demand for this game would drop significantly in the next few months?

I don't know.. Halo 1 hasn't been on the bargain bin since it was released 3 yrs ago. It should be in the Platinum Line by now for $19.99 but still selling of $29.99. MS is draining every $$ out to their only hit!

Exactly. If you are on the fence to wait on the best price...you are going to be waiting a long time. Trust me...it is worth every penny of the 50 smackers.

I do think you may be able to pick it up in a trade easier than other games since there will be so many floating around.

Hmmmm.....considering Halo 2 sales on the first day itself is 2.38 million units.
Thats a damn good number btw.
If the first Halo sold a total of 5 million in 3 years (include the year the price drop to 29.99 on Nov 2003)...hmmmm......i think i can wait that long......hehehehehe

If you're on the fence on whether to get this or not like I was, then GET IT. After reading on here, I went and rented it, played for like 3 hours, and just went and bought it. Fantastic game, and I'm not usually anything but a sports gamer.

MS would raise the price on Halo 2 before they sent it to the bargain bin

Not at all, I think the next Xbox and probably the next Halo would be out before that happened.

I don't think it will reduce in price. Your best bet is to work a trade deal someplace like GameRush.

Now is the more "valuable" time to have it, if you want to play Live with it, just from the fact that your "friends" list is probably 90% playing this game, which they won't be 2 years from now. Now is the best time to find a game with someone you "know" instead of some attention/stat whoring 12-year-old in 2007.

Nope, but if you wait there'll probably be random deals here and there in the coming months.

It may not hit the bargain bin but there will be a lot of people trading it in and selling for cheap on amazon and ebay etc. The game is 10-15 hours long and only a fraction of XBOX playes have live (1M in the US) so I'd expect people to finish it and trade it in or sell their used copies.

Wouldn't the CLB be a bit older in 2007

But you're forgetting non-online multiplayer... the original Halo didn't have any internet connectivity (well, officially anyway) and people still setup LAN parties to play long, long after they finished the campaign. In fact, I don't think I even finished the original's campaign on legendary...

Hell no, It might never hit bargain bins. Getting a good deal on the original is tough enough.

Personally, I think it'll drop down to a lower price since it's already sold a huge number of copies. Halo was a huge seller when it first hit, but it's been a consistently strong seller, and as the Xbox library has expanded, other titles have gained massive sales as well. Halo 2 will probably drop off in sales after X-mas and then will hit the low price point. I mean, after all, how many more people can buy it?

I don't think that you'll see a price drop until Xbox 2.

Microsoft said themselves, they are losing money on every Xbox sold but is banking on the software sales to make profits.

Halo and Halo 2 are easily THE cash cow for them which means a drop in price is highly unlikely. In 3 years from now (or even before), we may be seeing the next offering in hardware i.e. Xbox 2. This is the time you could expect to see Halo 2 in the bargain bin.

Microsoft said the new Xbox is slated for a Winter 2005 release. I think I heard that about a month ago so I dunno if they have said anything since then.

I think sums up this thread. Not a chance, Halo is still 30 bucks.
