Upcoming Blockbuster Video $15.99 New Releases

Here is the latest info for those needing to spend some of that store credit. Shrek 2 is the current $15.99 title.

Do you have to pre-order it to get it at this price?

Are these the only titles? No mention of Collateral, The Terminal, etc.?

No. Also, don't be surprised if they are not marked $15.99 at the store.

These are the only titles listed on the brochure. Might be additional titles after 12/6 but don't hold your breath.

That Harry Potter dude sure has grown. He's more like Harry Potter Sr. now....with emphasis on the "Hairy"

Is this only in certain states. Haven't seen this promotion in any store near me.

I am on that unlimited rental deal at my BB, but I haven't seen this advertised in my store. Guess I will print out the pic and see if they are planning on doing it.

That would be cool - something to use my credit at Blockbuster on. I was going to get Harry Potter anyway and it probably would only be about $1 cheaper elsewhere. Might even get Spiderman 2 too.

Do all blockbuster stores take movie trade ins, or is that regional too?

Fine print wouldn't have anything to do with locations. Blockbusters seem to decide whether they want to participate in these promotions independently. Best bet is to call or check stores in your own area.

I think I will use the Gamestop trade in 3 DVDs promotion for Harry Potter 3 and Spider-Man 2. Either way, assuming some store will have each for $14.99, I'll be getting $5 per DVD for trading it in which is OK if I use Best Buy or Walmart $5.99 bin titles I watched but didn't like.

Anyone know if Chronicles of Riddick is one of the 15.99 specials?

I went there and found out it's 21.99. Oh well.

So, is anyone seeing this special price for Elf in the suburbs of Chicago anywhere? It seems odd that an actual print advertisement from Blockbuster would be regional but at the moment until someone says otherwise it appears to be.

Same here (Corvallis, OR). Has anyone (other than the OP) found this deal at their local BBV?

I'm still seeing the commercials on TV every night with this deal. This is in Atlanta. Can't imagine this is only isolated to one city.

Does anyone know if Blockbuster will sell the SPIDER-MAN 2 Superbit version for the same price?

The list on both titles is the same.

Austin, Texas is not doing this promotion. The manager told me their promotion was 19.99 instead of 21.99.

Found Shrek for $15.99 at Cuyahoga Falls, OH Blockbuster.
Plus, they had the flyer shown above at the door.

Well it appears that so far GA and Ohio have this deal for some reason, but no one else? Sure would like to know why this is the case. For sure, if one were to ask a manager we would not get a straight answer as to why not, since at least in the Chicago suburbs these stores all have different policies on how they handle stuff with no real consistency.
