No thead on this yet. Or ever I think.
So i guess did anybody see the show, and if so, was it good?
After the cancellation of SFU after this next season, i'm dying for something awesome to come out of showtime or HBO.

I see it was highly awaited! I did see it. I thought it was interesting and definitely has potential, but I'm not hooked yet. It was more dramatic than I hoped, but I don't think it will necessarily stay that way. They just chose a heavy subject for the pilot. I'm not giving any spoilers It's definitely worth giving a shot while they are introducing the main characters. That looks like the strength of the show to me.

I was looking forward to this... But, all I got from watching the pilot was a "bleh" feeling towards it. They've ran those damn commercials for this show so much, I was able to recite half the lines by heart before they were said. That definitely took away a lot of enjoyment from my viewing of this episode.
But the other problem I had was that it tried too much to be serious. Maybe I just looked at it the wrong way, but half the lines seemed overacted and written as a "this is an emmy award winning drama! These lines are just so dramatic and powerful, look at us, another critically loved pay-cable drama!'
I guess what I'm saying is the show just didn't feel real enough. Instead of developing into a good show in and of itself, it seemed to want to force this "obscure, witty, powerful" drama when it should be developing the characters/storyline. I'll watch the show, because I do think it has some potential. But as Roto kind of said, they need to take a step back from trying to force dramatic moments and lines in every scene.

I watched it and enjoyed it. Hank Azaria's son didn't come off as believable to me, but it's not going to ruin the show. I'll keep watching and predict I'll be hooked by episode 4.
