The Bard's Tale
Has anyone played the new Bard's Tale yet? I just beat it today. It was a good RPG. It was extremely linear, but I liked it a lot better than Fable (a game I was very disappointed in). Bard's Tale is also very humorous. I don't think I ever stopped laughing at the game.

It took me a little over 20 hours to beat it. I didn't find all the secrets though. There are 25 hidden tokens in the game, and I only found 16. Yeah, the game just came out, but I almost always beat a game within a few days. I have no life and play like 6-10 hours a day. I beat Final Fantasy 7 when it first came out in 4 days, and that game took me around 50 hours.

I played it for 20 minutes and it reminded me too much of Baldur's Gate. Too much good stuff out there to bother with this one right now. Probably go back to it at a later date.

I never played the original Bard's Tale from the 80s. The new Bard's Tale uses the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance engine. Bard's Tale is much better than Dark Alliance though. Bard's Tale has humor in every single dialogue. It is almost a parody on RPGs. At one point, the Bard finds a skeleton lying on the ground with a key on him, and the Bard says something like, "I know you are going to come to life as soon as I take the key, so why don't you go ahead and attack me and get it over with." At another point the Bard finds a treasure chest sitting in the middle of a small island surrounded by lava. He says, " I know this is probably a trap, but oh well, I might as well see what is inside this chest."
