Why do people even have mics if they are not going to sing.

Well, Destiny's Child was, um, erotic?

Maybe Elton John can make some more comments about singers who lip sync on stage? And then he can introduce Ashley Simpson.

Beyonce looks so friggin' good....*sigh*

Only reason I have this on is to see Ashlee Simpson's part. Though most likely I'll be flipping back to this from MNF in a few minutes.

I don't think the audience knows what to do during the country segment, although I do think the country singers are rockin'.

So how is she doing? I've never actually heard her "sing" before.

I just caught this. I've never heard her CD, but that performance was perhaps the worst "professional" singing I've ever heard. Is she normally so off-key and twangy?

She needs to turn the back up tape back on. I've heard cats getting their tails stepped on carry notes better.

She needs to go back to lip syncing. It's interesting what the public will accept as good singing these days. She was so off key and flat, it really was embarrassing, but the brain dead audience clapped and cheered anyways.

I also think Destiny's Child lip synced after the first 30 second live part of their song.

Ahhh, I miss the good ole days of Freddie Mercury and no lip syncing. Now there was a singer in concert, even if his voice was rough, he would keep singing.

It was obvious that destiny's child was lip synced. I'm sorry, but you can't keep a steady note while jumping up and down (although, if they keep jumping up and down, i don't mind that they're lip syncing )

I give Ashlee credit for doing it "live". I mean, she couldn't win either way. Lipsync it and she looks like a moron and her career is toast, but sing it and everyone sees she can't really sing so her career should be toast (but won't be because the record companies will keep pushing this crap down kids throats).

Well, right before each commercial break, they sure seem to be pushing the fact that Ashlee Simpson will be LIVE!

We'll see.....oh, yes...we will see.

So her voice gave out just four hours before the taping, huh? Just such up bitch. It's bad enough you blame it on your band, just stop the lies, know your role, face it and shut the fuck up.

Can't believe the reaction this bitch and some of these other artists and bands are getting on this show. Why is today's idiot youth in love with such worthless garbage?? Why???

Okay, I had acid reflux in the late 80's for a couple of years. Now I NEVER lost my voice. It felt more like that I had an ulcer (Thank God I never got one) and eating would make it feel better. Finally I got pills that took care of it.

But unless the acid reflux is causing her to vomit every other minute, then I don't see how it could cause her to lose her voice!

Alanis Morrissette (sp??)

Now I just saw her with makeup on for the first time in 10 years and she looked pretty hot!

And it was obvious that she was singing live and she sounded great. I hope to hear her song again on the radio.

But I have one gripe, it was obvious that she was guitar syncing.

Yes, it's true. There is no way she could have been playing guitar properly the way her hands were going up and down so fast. 'ven Pete Townsend couldn't play that fast!

As bad luck would have it, I caught the end of Ashley's song just as I got out of the shower. Wow..........pheww.....I dunno what to say. The girl truly can't sing. She sounds better than me, but that ain't saying much. It did appear to be live. I didn't catch any kind of lip synching going on. The song wasn't bad. Catchy. Nice hook. She did appear to be embarrased at the end. Like she couldn't get off the stage fast enough. I can't believe people were cheering for her Maybe the crowd was talked to before her performance?

It's obvious they were fake singing, except for the few lines Beyonce scream/shouted at the beginning. I guess it's hard to actually sing with all that booty-bouncing going on

It makes me wish everyone who uses a pre-recorded version for live performances would have some type of Ashlee-esque fuck-up. 99% of the pop-r&b-dance artists would get called out if that happened. It's boring when singers just mouth the studio version and expect the audience not to notice or care.
