Remastered THE MISSION (HK) Coming
FYI, in the promotional material included in Mei Ah's recent re-release of FULL ALERT, a 16:9 THE MISSION is listed with a cover image with a slightly different graphic (same picture, less text) than previous releases.
No release date stated. Let's just hope they can avoid any permanent washes on this transfer.

I wrote to Mei Ah about a remastered version of The Mission after I saw the horrible quality of the original version. They replied that they were actually working on it and thing about an early 2005 release!!! (That was about 2 weeks ago).
I hope too it doesn't the annoying "burned in" title.

MISSION Versions
Well, I hope they get this one right. The VCD was okay.
The first DVD had the logo burn. Then there was a second release on which a windshield streak burn was also present (some say it looks like a square). It wasn't as bad but still incredibly annoying. Worse, Mei Ah re-packaged the second version with the words "Widescreen" on the back when it was simply letterboxed.
If they botch this one, I don't know.
Universe should take a crack at re-releasing their EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED and A HERO NEVER DIES. The latter seems to glow on one side of the image, and it is another horrible release.

widescreen=letterbox, unless it says anamorphic, 16x9, or enhanced for widescreen televisions, it'll be letterboxed.
