VH1's When Star Wars Ruled the World VS Empire of Dreams
I prefer VH1's shorter special to Empire of Dreams. I think it's funnier, with better "rare footage" with small stories that I hadn't heard before.
Who would've thunk it.

Yeah. Empire of Dreams was more informative and better put together. Watching both, essentially every scrap of info about the making of the films that's in the VH1 special is already in Empire of Dreams. The VH1 special does have some good behind the scenes footage but not as much as Empire of Dreams. It's funnier because it's produced in a more tongue in cheek manner and it also has some perspective from SW fans (some creepy).
