3 on currently and 1 more on the way (Trial by Jury). NBC wants more - sort of - according to this tidbit on tvguide.com:
Works for me.
Chris Noth is in talks to reprise his role as Det. Mike Logan in a series of Law & Order TV movies for NBC, Variety reports. Noth's last L&O pic, 1998's Exiled, was a huge hit for the network, drawing 28 million viewers.
Works for me.

Now that Sex & the City is gone I miss Chris Noth so it will be nice to see him on the small screen again.

you'd think the oversaturation is evident w/ the declining ratings of the original show.

I don't know if I would attribute the declining ratings solely to oversaturation. check out the thread to this week's ep: it has a lot to do with stagnant writing and bad acting. If the SVU team does the writing for the TV movies life will be even better.

Kind of like how CSI is getting a bit stale, even the original, which was always the best.

Considering this wouldn't be a weekly series, I don't think it counts toward "oversaturation." There are probably enough L&O nostalgic for the "good old days" to make this work out pretty good.

The original CSI, at its best, has always been about the "science geek" side of police work, while the other two are just generic cop shows.

I think it would have been a better idea to do this type of "event" movie off and on, rather than a whole new series. I think "Trial By Jury" is going to lead to further erosion in ratings.

Mike Logan was the man, so I'd be more than happy to see Chris Noth don the American flag lapel pin, plaid tie, and leather jacket again. I'm a bit surprised to hear this since he hasn't been shy about criticizing Dick Wolf.
